Gas tank covers

Is there such a thing as gas tank covers for old MX bikes.?? I have a 85 YZ 125 that was white 31 year's ago but now looks hideous. I don't want to paint it because of obvious reasons. (Looks like ass )after two laps.Also how can I remove paint that is from a rattle can ?

The YZ I bought over the winter had side covers that were spray painted yellow. Used the hair dryer to warm up one small section at a time then carefully used a fresh razor blade to peel it off. Tedious work, but effective. Good luck and be sure there's not even fumes left in that tank!

Brake fluid will remove it. I found a nos tank cover for my 82 yz125 that looks great. It was a hard find but you could have one made.

Maby try gasoline? That Usually ruins paint on plastic tanks.
I had a little paint on my tank, took it away with sodablaster, left a matte finish but i was going to sand and polish anyway

Tried soda blasting on the tank and I was able to remove the paint on that but still ugly.


Really looking for a cover though.
