Obviously it wasn't Slaton Racing who sent it and stealing their identity and then using that fake identity in a sense
to attempt to do something detrimental to Donk.
That's fraud & harassment in a sense.
Not "in a sense": that has direct legal implications. It is impersonating an organization in an attempt to rob someone of their ability to secure employment. Aside from any criminal law that may or may not apply, that is directly actionable in civil court if the correct defendant can be identified.

It's fine to dislike someone but you are breaking the law if you call, mail or email a potential future employer and misrepresent who you are and then lie about what happened.

Window shopping ! HAR!

Well, I did something anyone can easily do. I imagine that's why the entire phone number isn't displayed. If I tried to get into the account , I could see that being intentional invasion; I didn't however, and that's the only one on the list even.

Now, you are suggesting you can trace the IP. To my knowledge you haven't done it yet, but that would be interesting information.

On a side note. I don't know if I think it was Chloe. Unless she has two phones ( which is of course possible) her number doesn't match up.

I agree. I think it may have been someone close to or on the team. Or, perhaps it was someone on another team Donk worked for? If it were me, I'd be going through my phone and checking the last digits of everyone. I'd also try and get numbers of the people that are suspect and check those. If this person was halfway intelligent, they didn't use their own phone though. Idk how thought out this email was and I haven't read it.

Nailed it. I have to believe that the people signing up for one post ( other than Chloe as she was defending herself) are probably THE person, or at least know who it was. It still obviously could have been her, but I doubt that now.

Probably.
Who knows if they used legit info.
It's possible they could've used a trak phone, then you have to track down the CC# they used to pay and other activity from the phone etc... Even when people cover their tracks,it's still not impossible to find them.
Like Image Canvasing and matching up ID's over other activity from the same ID(device).
Or even in some Nat Security type tanks - people who use the same password over & over and then use it for something illegal is a good search string to try to pinpoint someone also and match stuff (activity) up.

Back on topic of solving this...
If he could get the originating ip and just use a little script to look at the geo location of the ip.
Then also the last 2 numbers you provided.
If he knows someone that he might suspect in that area with the those last 2 digits that might be enough
to take to a prosecutor to see if they can move fwd and gather more info under a court order also.
This would be great and the easiest way if it worked out.

Agreed. I'm not sure what his end goal is in all of this. I only talked to him about it briefly. I just think someone dumb enough to send the email in the first place is probably not smart enough to cover their own tracks. I don't see a lot of forethought going into it. I wish we could see how long the email has been around somehow.

Still Geo tracking will only give you state and city at most. Obtaining the IP address will only get you that at most 99% of the time. You say you have ways but I'd like to see what legal ways you have to get someone's address and name from an IP address. Even if you do then its still a long shot as it's most likely a dynamic address. You need more than just an IP address to get a address and name.

Data tanks for marketing purposes are usually the best bet, unless you got access to the good stuff.

I'll give you one of my very simple methods I don't mind taking about publicly.
But whats legal for me and the stuff I have access to you,you probably don't.

Let's say I get random email from someone wanting to do business and I want to see if they are legit and who they say they are.
I might simply reply to the email with a hidden image I'll name it "anonguy123.png"
I'll then check the server logs where the image is uploaded to and see who viewed"anonguy123.png".
I'll look at the ip/user agent and also canvas ID of the device.
Once I have all that data I'll simply run it through a tank I have access to.
And see if I get any hits of other activity from that ip or canvas id using the same user agent.
For instance someone with the same ip & canvas ID viewed an embedded flash add on FB 15 minutes before that(the cpa network would obviously have to be a contributor of the tank or sell data to them).
Then I would look at the referring url's and whatever else was harvested.
You would be surprised what some marketing companies know and the data they have in regards to online activity.
Then just keep digging. I assure you they always access something personal and you can always find something.
You can at least find something to pinpoint.
Now that's just one simple hit & miss method.
But I have more.

Keep in mind also...
If you pay a small fee in some states you can get a PI license.
With that license and for a fee you can get access to some pretty good data also that is very useful in tracking people down.
Like phone numbers, names, addy's submitted and the ip they were submitted from etc..
People often give out their numbers when shopping online or filling out cpa offers etc...
The CC processors sell data often to companies also.
There's a lot out there.

I'm disappointed that people are disappointed that others don't know some guy named Donk. I'm disappointed that Vital has yet to figure out who sent the email. And yes, the only thing that could possibly apply a slight polish to this turd of a thread are pictures and we can't even get those. I want my money back.
