Clocked 1.1hrs after work yesterday and my first ride ever on a KTM. coming from the '15 KX450, I must say that I can feel the power and weight difference instantly. The bike is fast, goes where I point it, and wheelies everywhere. I had ordered a 49t sprocket but don't think I will be needing it. Stock gearing is fine and lugging third gear in corners is not an issue.

Forks are not bad but not great either. Handles the small chop pretty well and overall jump landings aren't bad. I haven't OJ'd anything yet so can't tell how this will be. I have CVs coming, and if it's as good as everyone says, I think I will be pleased with my setup.

I'm running the aggressive map, akro full exhaust, and a 2t filter cage. The ECU was flashed by KTM for the full system and it runs pretty good. I did notice a little decel pop when shutting the throttle off high in the revs. Running pump fuel now and will see how she reacts to renegade or 4.4. Overall I'm impressed and can't wait to get some more seat time.

Superstoked on my overpriced, talent exceeding, trendy scooter!

Ok got some bad news for you guys I don't know if you remember me telling you how our buddies fork collapsed. Well he sent it to factory connection as they did it for free got it back went riding today and it happened again. I am so glad I bought the cone valves because this would be in the back of my mind every race.

Just go back a few pages. My KTM dealer fixed it. There is a X-ring that needs to be replaced in the air fork. He also changed the stock vaseline to KYB vaseline.

I have 7 hours on my bike in minus Celsius and my fork hasn't collapsed when we changed the X-ring to another one. Pretty much everyone had to do that in Europe since the weather in Europe is cold in the winter.

Did they change the stock X-ring to a new stock X-ring? Because the one my dealer put in my forks felt a bit softer.

Can anyone tell me if their bike came with valve stem nuts? There were none on my bike. Also I was only able to get 96mm of Race Sag out of the stock spring and I weight 190lbs in street clothes. Anyone have similar issues?
No stem nuts on my stock wheels either. I also weight in at 185 and could only get 98mm of sag. but talked with my Suspension guy. he said that i would have to put some time on it and that the spring would stretch about 10mm. so we will see tomorrow.

Is there any way to reset launch control without shutting down the bike? It's a pain in the ass to have to restart the bike after each practice start.

When you are riding back to start again, pull clutch in, hit kill switch, hit starter, good to go again

Hey yall. Quick question.
I am picking up a Factory Edition 450 on Thursday. Will be my first KTM. I am jacked!
Coming off 13' RMZ 450.

My question is for yall guys that are changing your forks, shock, and exhaust on your new factory editions. Why not just start out with a standard SXF? I understand just wanting what you want. Just did not know if I was missing anything?
Anyways looking forward to my new scooter!

Looks like we have a match. For those who like the stock Neken bend on the bars, looks like the McGrath/Short bend is a match if you want to run a crossbar.

Bum deal for your buddy. Glad these aren't first year, pre-production forks otherwise a lot of people would be running back to KTM for repairs. This likely is just the one off problem that creates a nightmare for a few guys every year, independent of brand. I hope it stays to only a couple. Although the CVs sound like a nice upgrade there's no way I'm buying a set... Maybe in a couple years. Who knows. It's like the dude that called into PulpMX last week with three 16s/FEs and was putting CVs and trak shocks on all of them... Must be nice. Even got a chuckle out of the guys on the air.
If anyone has recommendations on who's already working on the AERs, that would be helpful. I've seen Stillwell and assume FC or Enzo. Just not sure who else. I figure any of the local NorCal guys won't be ready for a while.

Here's the thing that I try to get people to understand. They go out and spend a grand on there stock suspension without thinking twice but think it's crazy to buy a kit. Do you ever see that money for the revalve when you sell it? Last year I rode cone valves all year sold them at the end and it cost me 150 bucks out of my pocket. When I sold them I found a great deal on another new set for the same exact price I sold them for. I understand some people don't have the money to put forward but you will get it back!

http://www.amsoil.com/shop/by-product/motor-oil/4-stroke/synthetic-sae-…

I used the 10W-50 version on my old 2014 450, but i wanted to try the 10W-60 on the new 2016!

How much did the a60/kite wheels cost? The black spokes and orange nipples added probably a few bucks. I'm using my DID/Talons from my 2014 450(just changed spacers on the fornt hub) but the DID rims are kind of beaten up.

I got them off a freind who bought them and got hurt I paid 700 for the set with new tires. But there crazy expensive if you buy them new there like 700-800 each wheel without tires. I would never pay that just came across a deal

Anybody out there running the FasterUsa wheel sets with the orange hubs? i was wondering if the orange was a good color or off looking color? I"ve had Talon Carbon's and regular Talons, no Kite's but they all seem to be made out off the same material, just the name and importing them seem to jack the price up.

Blue hubs and blue sprocket would look great with the blue already on the FE

Does anyone know where the yellow cold start button on the 16 fe 450 should be in basic position? I pushed the cold start button in until it clicked and shows that it's activated. You can still push it in further little more as it is spring loaded. The temp was right around 67 degrees. The bike ran great and all but after riding for about 10 or 15 minutes I stopped to rest it. I'm breaking in the bike. I noticed that the cold start button was still pushed in, I could pull the cold start knob down and it clicked, I guess that is deactivated per the manual. I went out again, but this time I started the bike and ran it with the cold start knob pulled out until it clicked. Is that where you should run the bike when it's over 68 degree, knob all the way out until it clicks? I thought that if it was pushed in it was suppose to return the the basic setting after it warms up. thanks

I have a set coming. Should be here late this week or early next. Digger recommended them and has been running them for awhile with no issues. I like the idea of running tow bearings on the drive side considering billet hubs are traditionally a little hard on bearings.

So after my initial ride, I was thinking how my local practice track was really slick and traction was impossible. When changing the oil and prepping for hitting the turn track tomorrow, I went ahead and checked tire pressure. 37psi in the front and 60 in the rear. WTF! Rookie move on my part for not checking prior to my first ride, but damn. Didn't think it would be that far off from the dealer. I know people reference riding 450s like a diesel tractor, but I think my dealer or KTM took it literally.

It should be in the out position to ride. You should only have to push it in when engine is cold. When it starts pull it back out. Shouldn't have to use it rest of day. It will release(or supposed to) on its on when you chop throttle hard. Easier to just pull it back out. You can check how the auto release works by pushing it in and without starting bike, turn throttle wide open and let go, you can see the knob pop back out then
