Reading this is getting me excited, mine is supposed to be here sometime in April. Just sold my 2013 crf 450, no turning back now! Appreciate all you guys with early shipments working out all the bugs.... I planned on running mine pretty much stock, after throwing a ton of money & parts at my 13 Honda, I figured with the Ktm I would not have to do that. Just curious, for the guys that are modding these bikes already, did you try to get them dialed in stock at all?
I'm right there with you on that! Mine arrives in April and I've been getting prepped for it. Sold my 450, ordered full plastic set and getting graphics done right now. It's most painful when I hear of a bike being available at another dealer. Rather than screw over my current dealer, I'm being patient... But it ain't easy! I may even need to qualify for Mammoth MX on my kids 250F! Yikes!

You guys should be getting your bikes any day now. I was an April delivery as well and all 4 of the April 450 FEs were delivered last friday. Note that my dealer didn't even get invoiced until the day after they showed up. Hope this helps the anxiety, but may make it worse.

Looks pretty close to me.

Assuming you tried decal, but did you select "Dark Orange"? That is their 2016 KTM orange color.

Did you just buy new plastics for the backgrounds and keep the stockers? Also did you remove insert from silencer?

I have CVs on order. Thought the device would fit considering they are both 48mm. Any suggestions on what to use for the CV

The diameter on the bottom of the forks is different so stock does not fit. Digger has a nice setup I'll ask him who makes it I currently don't have a device on.

Got the Trax in and on yesterday. Hope it works as good as it looks. Just finished up rebuilding my wheels from last yr and will be putting them and the last few very small things on her and she's done. Your holeshot device will not work on the 48mm cone valve because it has a straight upper tube with no steps or tapering like the stock WP 48mm fork tube. I'm using a Tamer device and have used them for yrs. Very nice holeshot device. If you want to use it you'll need an H-18 ring for the cone valve.

Has anyone ever run "faster USA" hubs? How do they compare to kite? i know the price point is better, but haven't heard much about them.

I put out feelers for a 450 FE at dealers, and all of a sudden I'm getting calls from dealers where 450s and 250s that were on hold with a deposit were starting to fall thru (changed mind, don't have the $/financing/wife said no, whatever)

I got two calls yesterday for 250s, that when I went in on SAT they "had em all sold" and now that they are in, they need to sell em.

I've been running Faster USA wheels for the last 3 seasons & I'm brutal on wheels and their wheels have stood up to my abuse and looked great all season. The spokes never loosen after the initial break in. They make their own hubs here in the US and use double bearings on the drive side of the rear wheel. You can you your own wheel spacers which I love too. Definitely a great wheel at a great price.

I put mine directly over the stock plastic. It doesn't show through. Just FYI if anyone was wondering the 16 front fender and number plate fits directly on to the old body style 13-15 ktms. Just put mine on my sons 14 250sxf and it looked good!

Got a pic? I'm interested in doing this. Not sure how the 16' plastic would look with the stock wheels though.

A little update on the AER48 forks. I overjumped a 15 meter long tabletop with about 2-3 meters, i totally flatlanded the jump and in the air i thought instantly that this is it, i'm going to die or at least break my ankles or wrists. But the bottoming resistance of the suspension was absolutely amazing! I didn't hurt anything on my body. I'm very impressed with the stock suspension on the 2016 FE 450!

Thanks, I did order and have them applied to the plastic. They said the orange color is their dark orange and ktm signed off on it. I guess I will see when it arrives.

Sounds good, can't wait to get mine out to the track.
