Listed my bike on craigslist today and this dude messaged me within an hour. Seems rather fishy. Thoughts?

The word "kindly" is a sure give a way.

Funny thing is I just sold a bike and it was paid for through PP and no one could be there when the guy picked it up. I just told him where it was and he came and got it.

Seamless transaction, to bad all people aren't like my buyer.....

That is a scam for sure. They pay with a hacked pay pal then someone in a white van shows up and gets the bike. A few days later, pay pal takes the money back out of your account and you have nothing. I believe that they even have this as a typical scam in the "avoid scams and fraud" link on Craigslist's home page.

In 2010, i had a 10 KLX 110 up for sale on Craigslist. I had got a sketchy email like the one you seem to have gotten. I created a new Paypal account with a new email address and the person sent the money and it went thru. I called paypal to make sure it was legit and they said it was, and i had the money all sent to my bank. I tried and tried to contact the person but I never did hear from them again. I got some 65 forks and some other goodies. Never did hear from the guy again.

I only except cash. Even then i still check each bill for fakes. Also i qualify the buyers before giving them my address. Even if they are offering more money.

^^^^^^^^^ This. Just tell them that you don't have a paypal account and when the guy shows up to pick up the bike, he can bring some cash with him.
