I haven't ridden in almost a year due to some personal reasons. Before I stopped I was getting ready to step up to a class and was really getting everything together. Than life hit and I had to stop for time being. This season i want to resume racing, I've been riding for almost 12 years and i need some advice. I have a 2012 kx250f with everything set around me. Hasn't been touched since I rebuilt pretty much the entire bike a year ago. Any suggestions on little things to add to my bike to get it ready ? Also, I know riding is 85% of the way to success, But what can i do off track to improve ? Anything will really help, Even just a little friendly advice .

Maybe just change all the fluids, filter, tires and get out there to rip!

Exercise. It will help you improve on the bike in every aspect.

Cardio in the form of mountain biking and strength training. Eating all natural organic lean proteins and lots of fruits and veggies is key too!

From expierience, the best advice I can give you is to not take it to serious. At the end of 2013 I called myself getting serious about my racing and started riding pretty good..started competing with guys that were previously noticably faster than me..then as you said..life happened and over the next two years I only made four races and the harder I tried the worse I rode.
I've come to realize the more relaxed I stay and the attitude of racing for fun actually allowed me to ride faster than I ever have ..
Keep it light....Keep it fun!

If you let your fitness go, you should focus on that and be confident while your out there having fun! Cause that is what its all about

I agree man, I raced and had a few local sponsors and just kinda lost the love for the sport. I was killing myself and other riders were just killing it. Time to take easy and enjoy it like you said .
