Does any form of racing have the "pucker" factor of a NHHA bomb run?

I remember years ago (maybe like 2010 or something), Dirt Rider went and raced, and then compared all the various forms of off road racing in America (WORCS, GNCC, Enduro, NHHA, etc.)...they said GNCC was the hardest, but that NHHA was the "scariest"...videos like this make me agree with them.

Is there any form of racing with the pure pucker factor of Hare and Hounds? The speeds, the unknown course, the distance from medical care, the Dust...maybe Baja (but those guys pre-run...though most NHHA's will allow the riders to pre-run the bomb...but not the rest of the course).

That is amazing, but can I nominate these guys? I guess it's not racing but it's pucker: skip to 35 sec in.

Complete track only guy here but is it normal to not have a clutch lever in H&H? skip to 5:18 if you want to know what I'm on about

What advantage does it serve to take it off?

That's a pretty abnormal set up, I don't think it's serves an advantage. Guess the guy doesn't feel a need for it

He has a clutch lever...its hard to see at 5:18...but at the beginning you can see it. It may have broken off in a crash or something?

I'd rather do a 100 bomb runs in Lucerne than be the night guy for one Baja 1000.... Laughing

No, the clutch lever is there the whole time. It's just super hard to see because it blends in the the handguards. It's a black Works Connection lever.

At night is an entirely different ball game...(add in a little dust and its like riding with your eyes closed).

I also thought of the Isle of Man (if we're talking any form of racing).

Isle of Man kills anything on two wheels. Maybe it's just me, I don't know. They've been running that race for something like 80 years, and there have been something like 230 casualties.

I'd rather do 100 bomb runs, than jump a SX triple...let alone race baja at night. LOL

I've actually done a Supercross triple on my WORCS KX450F a few years go; big skiplates, tank, hanguards and all... It'll sure get you some funny looks! Laughing

You're crazy! I wouldn't jump a supercross triple on James Stewart's bike, a decade and a half ago, sure...but not now. I like to keep the tires on the ground.

Gentlemen,

I know just enough about both of you to say...

On a good team and average conditions, you both would haul ass & love it.

Well, I sure wouldn't turn down an opportunity, that's for certain. Wink

What was is KC66 used to say? Oh yeah, "do something every day that scares you"...that's it. And if that thing that scares you, just so happens to be racing Baja...at night...then that's called "living the good life". Smile

Not to be a one upper but I think the Isle of Man TT race, start to finish, is a complete balls sucked up to your throat, butt hole puckered tighter than concrete kind of thing.

To be fair, about 110 of those were at the Manx Grand Prix, which is held on the same course, but if primarily for amateurs. So the Isle of Man TT is only about 140 in 96 years. Still a lot of dead motorcyclists.

I watch those IOM videos and it scares the crap outta me on my couch.

For me it's definitely road racing, tried it once and my nuts felt like they disappeared up my asshole. Was never so happy to get OFF a motorcycle. Definitely not my bag, strange though that I've never been truly scared in MX.
