Anybody tried to fit a CRF steering dumper on a late RM250? Any ideas?...If you don't believe the CRF dumper works, please this tread is not for you, I don't care, it'd look cool...

It works, just not well.

How does it look cool when it's hidden behind the number plate?

But to answer your question, get aftermarket clamps that have the mount on them. And get the frame mount welded on at your local machine shop

Ride engineering clamps have the mount drilled in, and sell a little bracket for the frame mount I believe. I've always toyed with the idea of putting one on one of my yamahas. I did have an '11 honda that had one on it, they definitely work, but that thing was a pile anyway so it's hard to judge off of lol

I put one on my KTM200 using a Ride Engineering bracket. I like it! You have to put some fresh oil in the damper and you gotta experiment with the oil viscosity a little bit because the actual range of adjustment in the damper is pretty small. So you get it in the ballpark with the oil and fine tune with the adjustment. Changing the oil is super easy.

I looked at ride engineering, I don't see a bracket for the RMs and to mount it on the lower triple clamp It's the easiest part, we can just drill and tap the trick part is to move the CDI and mount the top part on the bikes frame, thanks for trying to answer.

Yeah its pretty hard to find nice parts like that for RM's, I was going to do it on my 125, I had steel and aluminium bosses with threads in them turned up on the lathe, I was going to have them welded to the top or bottom clamp and the steering tube but then I'd have to figure out a spot to move the CDI to. Could be done pretty easily, just find someone who has a CRF then measure the bolt hole centres on the damper mount and bang thats it.
