Some years ago, my brother and I took one of his KX500's and made it street legal. As in fully legit
and properly tagged. It was stupid unpractical but man it was fun. By far the best feature was putting
buddy pegs on it. We'd take girls for rides and scare them silly. Good times!!! Smile
As seen in Cycle World.

You don't want an MX bike with a close ratio transmission.

You will be tapped out screaming along in 5th gear just get an EXC and be done with it, end of story.

This is my 02 520 She's long in the tooth but gets the job done just fine. Smile

I had one of these for a year. It was kinda fun, but too much of a terd for me. The street spec fork springs were rediculously soft and it couldn't even power wheelie in first gear. I decided it would be too much of a pit to try and transform.

Next time around, I'm getting a WR400, 426 or 450.

It wasn't hard to make and held up good. I just wanted to keep the fender clean. If you look close you can see a little smoked turn signal hiding above the silencer.
