There is a stage one kit which brings the bike up 1" and stage 2 is 2"... 6'4" and above meant to be stage 2... Honestly it's so damn different I still can't make up my mind if the bike just felt different as in how it is meant to or if my setup was off. I'm gonna have to do some playing for sure.

Yeah I put hours on mine just re learning how to ride on a bike that I can grip with my knees and stand/sit properly on! I've had the similar over steering issue, I found moving the fork height flush did the most difference, but never truly got it sorted before work got in the way of riding. Glad to hear you like the kit though, it's a game changer for big dudes like us!

Yeah man it's amazing how much more comfortable the bike is!

Did you find anything with ruts? I was definitely popping out of them, particularly at the end... And I gotta say it felt like what the bike was like when I had massive high risers before... Maybe thinking of going to my pre bar setup, which is still high, but just not quite as much–rubber mounted too...

Probably makes more sense to play with suspension settings first.

Did you have any more thoughts on the rubber mudguard? I am thinking of making one from scratch from some rubber or plastic...

Funny, I actually found that the kit helped me a ton in rutted corners. I just kept hitting them harder and harder, it was like the faster I came into the rut the better it felt, which obviously helped my corner speed like crazy. So not sure what to say there ha. I actually struggled the most in flat corners and ones with loamy (weak) berms, as that's where I felt the oversteering the most. So it seems we are experiencing the exact opposite things! I've heard some guys say they've tried lower bar mounts and had success, so thats definitely something you could experiment with. Let me know how it goes and if you find anything good! The more big guys we can get testing this thing the better!

!!! Ok cool. Might be a week or so but i've asked my suspension guy to have a think when he sees it too. Still so much more comfortable I'll make it work!

I may be wrong but unless you're super tall it's impossible to know what it's like. The difference between the lower 6' range" and 6' 7"+ is really quite profound.

I'm 6' 9"/230# and come from the day of 32" seat heights. It's amazing to me that people today have the choices they do in how they modify their bikes for their size. Years past all you could do was a higher seat and whatever tall bars you could find. I use to run ATV bars.......

I've ridden all my bikes stock and then after I've done what I do, Rox risers, lower pegs and a taller seat and I've never found any huge difference in how the bike handles. Clearly some do but I don't.

For me a huge improvement in moving the bars forward with the Rox risers, it just gives me a ton more room and again, I don't find any big handling difference.

So cool you were able to get this kit, it's a big advantage over just the bandaid fixes we've all had to use in the past.

Great report.
Hi. I am 6,7. What ROX risers do you use? Stock handlebar or something even higher?

What lower pegs are you using?

I never knew that kit existed. I'm 6'9" and 200lbs and just jacked the seat and bars. Its all about getting comfortable and for the most part, the REALLY tall guys have trouble transitioning from seated to standing. It's hell on the knees.

What risers/handlebar and seat are you using? Thanks!

Pastrana FMX bars, Enduro Engineering riser kit set as high as the stock cables would allow. Enduro Engineering tall soft seat, but it had as stupid hump at the back where the little square patch is so I pulled the seat foam and shaved it down to look somewhat more normal.

Yep, got the +10mm tip on there, with the fastways there is quite a bit more room. I'm a 12 in Astars tech 8s... I think I might change boots though, something that has a hinge might help shifting a bit.

I'm a 12 in gaernes and fox. I switched from sg12 to instincts and the lower profile makes a huge difference. I measured the outside length of the boot as a half inch shorter and the toe box was about 3/8 inch narrower. The inside of the foxes are a little less roomy, so that may be an issue if you've got some bony feet

A question.
What is the difference for having an extra high seat made 2" higher than stock instead of this 2tall kit?

Ok it does not look as good but what is the difference?
You can still feel the bike with you knees in the same way right?
Custom made seat will not cost you a 1/4 of the price for this kit.

I've had the tallest seat SDG has and the difference is you sink into it...

I definitely think it could/should be cheaper but it's no doubt in my mind better than a seat.

The kit is good I also think so but it is to expensive for what it does.

But if you build the seat with hard material 2", then put seat foam and cover on top of that. You will end up with a hard and firm seat same as stock.

You can even build the edges of the seat to go out on to the tail and up on the tank a bit more to make it look a bit less crazy. But 6,7" - 6,9" guys like us on these bikes will still look crazy Smile

Yeah agree...

It's hard though. Even svelt, I don't think anyone our height is gonna be much less than 105kgs, for me that is really fit and light... so if you're 6'6"+ and fat(ish), it's pretty easy to sink in!

But 2" of hard material/plastic and then regular hard seat foam should keep the seat nice and firm.

I've got a custom made tall SDG seat and you won't sink into it. It was like a rock actually!

No, I don't want my bike to be any taller than it has to be. Kyle Partridge is 6'6" and the only thing he does is add a 10mm spacer to his bars. Sometimes my buddies and I will swap bikes when we ride and its already hard enough for them to use my bike Smile

I feel like there are definite techniques that are helpful, and definite bike set ups that are helpful, but I honestly believe that the other 50% comes down to whatever the specific person prefers. Two equally sized riders can still have dramatically different set ups depending on their skill so I just feel blessed that at 6'9" I can even ride a bike. I'm comfortable with what I've got and I don't think the ergos are holding me back.

A question about the bars.
Why not the Windham/RM it has more Rise. Not very much but everything counts Smile

Fastway for the pegs. And definitely get the seat up. Those will make dramatic differences.

I've got Pastrana FMX, sorry I wasn't clear on that. They are 4.75 inch rise.or about 118 mm.

The only taller bend I found was in 2005 Factory 909 made a Deegan Freestyle bar that was 4.9 inch. It was on this bike:

I think you have to buy an extra "lowboy" option with their pegs.

Thanks again. I will ask them what to get.
I am full of questions Smile

Is it a bad idea to have to handlebar moved forward slightly and then go for a lower handlebar than the Pastrana FMX?
Like in the picture. It would help a lot for me to control the bike otherwise the distance from handlebar to my legs when standing up will be to close in my opinion.

So,

After watching some video of a couple of my motos last week, and watching how effortlessly the little guys move around on the bike compared to me, and how I make my 2012 KTM 250sx look like an 85 (OK, that probably isn't going to change anytime soon), I finally decided I needed to spend some money to open up the cockpit. I'm a bit bigger then the "average" rider, standing 6'7" and weighing in at just under 220 lbs, but I've always kinda shied away from tall seats and pegs, as I haven't liked the feel of tall seats in the past (not to mention they look weird), and 5mm lower pegs just didn't seem like they were going to do much for me, but I was determined to try something. As I was looking through eBay and other sites I came across 2Tall Racing, and long story short, bit the bullet and spent too much on their stage II Space Kit. Simply put, the kit moves the handlebars, tank, subframe, and seat up and out about 2". The Stage II kit's goal is to convert modern linkage style KTMs to fit riders above 6'4". For more info the kit, click here.

Anyways, while I was debating on whether it was a good idea to give my right arm for the kit, I discovered that there really isn't a whole lot out there on the kit itself, other then a few positive words on a couple forums, and the info on 2Tall's website. I started this thread to give my thoughts on the kit and hopefully help other tall guys like me!

Again, I'm a 6'7", 220 lb motocross rider, 22 years old, and ride C (I've been told I may have to move up to B next year so I'm moving up in the world). I run Windham mids and have my suspension set up for me (interested to see how the kit affects those numbers).

Thank you for the great review.

Pastrana is like 6'3", Partridge is at least 6'4" (I think), DeDyker is a power forward. None of these guys differed radically on bike setups. Lowered pegs, taller seats and bars.

I am 6'4", I run Fastway lowered pegs, SDG tall seat, and Henry/Reed bend bars. Every now and then I play around with 5-10mm spacers to raise the bars, but always go back. My bars are in the forward position, and rotated a couple degrees up from neutral.

I have no problem gripping the bike with the lowered pegs and higher seat.
