We're planning a trip from March 4th-15th down to Florida, Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee. I've been down there before, about 4 years ago, 3X, and I've ridden Waldo, Pax, Okeechobee, Bithlo, and Bartow(sp?). Loved Waldo and Okeechobee. In Georgia, ridden Diamondback (loved it) and Cairo and in Alabama, Monster Mountain.

I'm 40, the other guy is 46 and another 30 and we would like to know what tracks are really good down there and if anyone would know of any trails to hit in GA or TN, please let me know. I'd like to get some feedback and then do some more searching to plan the trip.

Any help would be appreciated.

Other than Monster Mtn. We've hit Sand Mountain in Northern AL. It was fun and the owner was a really cool guy. It was pretty new when we were there, so I imagine it's even better now. It's worth at least a day on the way down or back home.

Sand Mtn. is a good track. Billy has made a lot of changes since he has opened the track. He is a really cool guy and very nice also. I would also check out MillCreek MX Park as well. It is another great track.

There are a bunch of tracks here in Alabama and some of the best trails I have ever seen. Look at www.bamamx.com or www.jmrpowersports.com. What ever type of riding you like....we have here. Like SX style? Try JB MX in Huntsville or Warrior MX. Like Natural terrain MX? try Deer Run, Sand Mtn, ChrisCross. Like a mixture of both? Try Pleasant Hill in Decatur. Like trails? Try Cheahea MOuntain (Kentuck ORV trails), Buckhead National forest, Scenic Hills.

I think there are somewhere around 2 dozen or so tracks operating just in Alabama. And when you are finished, go to Barbers Motorcycles Museum (amazing).

Variety of riding places (WITHOUT MEMBERSHIP FEES) is one of the reasons we left Florida and moved up here. Some of the best people you'll ever meet, no rockstar attitudes, and there are some very fast riders around here too.

Good info so far, thanks much. I forgot about Barber Motorcycle Museum, I'll definitely put that on the list.

We like motocross style tracks, wide, loamy, fall away jumps and mix in a few doubles and triples. I have an 09 YZ450F but I also have a KTM 250XC-F. Keep the info coming and I'll compile everything together and make plans, thanks to all and keep them coming.

I spent 5 days at Aonia Pass MX in Washington, GA. Great track, very cool guy running the place. We had a RV there, and we had water, and electric. (The only thing is the water and electric hook ups were a little limited) Things may have changed, since I went in winter of 07. The track is made in a valley and the guy would groom it daily even if 10 riders were on the track all day.

I've heard good things about Aonia. Plus, it's good that they are open all week. That's gonna be the hard part, is finding tracks that are open during the weekdays. Thanks.

hit bremen in Ga on your way over to Mill Creek. it's off i-20 at exit 19. great track with great prep. SX section with an outdoor section and good dirt.

also down 85 just past the Ga/Al line is a track called big cedar, good track with good prep.

monster mtn, down by montgomery is good.

when mill creek and monster mtn have good preps on them they are two of the best tracks you will ever ride.

dont ever go to kentuck, EVER!!

bremen is open during the week

We went down a few years back and our first day riding was going to be really wet.

It was a lot of fun and soaked up the rain really good. It was a lot more sandy then though. They must have trucked in the red dirt.. Anyway, it's a really wide fun track..

It's in Southern AL.

Diamonback is no longer around.. It is a shame also, I loved that place also. We would make the 3 hour drive down there about once a month just to ride there.

I would hit up Mill Creek, Pax and Bremen for sure. I haven't been to Sand Mtn but a lot of my friends have and they liked it.

Monster Mountain is or was up for sale so not to sure if they are open or not. But there are several tracks not to far from there.

Sweet, these places look pretty good and we should have enough to choose from. Thanks for all of your input and we're looking forward to it as it is -2 right now and snowing. Too bad it's 3 months away though.

Monster Mtn. is still open even though it is up for sale. The owner intends to keep it open for practice and have races at the track.

Hey your lucky, they just re-open Okeechobee. Also try to hit MX of Marion County if you can and Hard Rock, they aint to far from Waldo. Bartow has change a lot but still sandy as hell.

And of course lets not forget about Florida's best kept secret Bostwick Creek MX Park! Only about 45min east of Waldo. bostwickmx.com

Bremen and Aonia are both open during the week. Millcreek should be an option for the weekday also but you will have to contact the owners to confirm. All three have hook ups available. Bremen may be open Tuesday or Thursday evening also. Check with them to confirm which night they are running, they drop one evening during the cooler months.

All three of these tracks are located on (or near) I-20. Aonia is approx 90 east of Atlanta on 78, Bremen 90 miles west of Atlanta just off I-20 and then Millcreek is approx an hour west of Bremen in Alabama just off of I-20.

If you need contact info pm me.

There is a new track in Lake City, FL not too far from Waldo and I hear they are building an even bigger track that is suppose to open in March. It's Lake City Motocross, You might check it out too.

If you want some great trail riding while you are in Georgia you need to hit up www.HighlandParkResort.com or www.durhamtown.com. Highland park is near Bremen and Durhamtown is out I-20 East on the other side of Atlanta. Durhamtown also has some MX tracks mixed into their trail system.

we just got back from a little trip. we went to county line mx in fountain, florida. also only about 45 minutes from panama city beach. it was a really cool track. it was nice because they have a shower there, and motorhome showers suck. the track we pretty easy but really fun. and monster mountain is one of the best tracks ive ever riden. theres also mill creek in AL, but good luck finding out if they have practice or not. heres the helmet cam from county line. county line mx 12-28-08
