Superminis and amateur class is the reason for no whoops. And I think those 2 classes add a lot of entertainment value

Yeah, I noticed that too before I clicked submit. But that was from 2011. :-)

I know I'm coming across like an old bitter man (which I am indeed quickly becoming) but even if exagerated, my rant has a little bit of validity...you gotta admit. It's just overkill monster claws, man.

Look at Bercy. That race has been "off da chains!" for decades and they've managed to do it without an energy drink.
Bercy is sponsored by Monster.

Who gives a damn if we have Monster Claws all over the place? It's a company that has heavily invested in our sport, our teams, and our athletes. Why are you so butt hurt that their logos are all over it? I couldn't care less of it was Tampax logos everywhere - if they're footing the bill for the growth of the sport I'm glad they're a part of it. God forbid you have to see the advertisements that pay for the content that you can see AT NO CHARGE.

It should be more like Daytona. Way classier, and that track is a true hybrid ands few small
Changes would make it ok for amateurs in the night show. I know the stadium isn't as big and the dirt is much different but they should be able to somewhat emulate that race.

I'm sick of Monster in general and the Monster Cup feels forced.

It's not a true hybrid track (as originally billed).
The million is not really a million (just ask RV...he found out after he swept the inaugural event).
No Euro riders (as originally billed).
Not all US riders even show up.
80cc class....who cares?
The super team of Ralph, Emig, and RC...I can't bear to listen to these people anymore.
Smoke and mirrors BS.....(flames going off on the track during the event - WTF is this, a motorcycle race or Universal Studios?)

I don't care than Monster brings in tons of money. I wish they would go away. I feel like it's being shoved down my throat. The Monster marketing machine is jumping the shark in my opinion. Anybody watch that Monster infomercial disguised as a press conference? Ugh.

Actually the million is a million, just like the Powerball or MegaMillions is whatever the number is on the sign....if you take the annuity (20 year payout for those I just lost). If you want it up front in lump-sum cash, it is always less, same as the lotto jackpots. RV took $50K/yr for 20 years (the One Million Dollar annuity). This equals $1Million where I went to school. It is a bit mis-leading when they show that case of cash, but the cash payout is $500K which isn't exactly chump change for 30 laps of racing plus a truck (that you have to pay sales and license tax on) if you can get all three holeshots.

Either way, the MEC is another chance for us to get a lil racing fix and have something to chat about. At the end of the day, I'm all for any events that get the majority of the riders to compete...

If you think about it, Jason Anderson made just shy of what KROC did last night with his $20k, plus a new Tundra. He definitely made more than Dungey's $35K for second...

I thought all the racing was good, sure some guy's are not that into it but all in all a good event.

I don't use energy drinks but I don't mind them spending their money to entertain us.

i'm completely at a loss for words at the negativity that surrounded this race this year... i was there and that was some of the most exciting racing i've seen live in a long time. i think people just want to hate.

keep drinking your haterade, bros. James not racing wasn't entirely surprising, though i still don't know why he didn't race 2nd and 3rd moto...

also, Manny, sorry we weren't able to meet up there was just a lot going on all day

Well said Grieby54. 100% agree.
My wife and I enjoyed the hell out of watching the race in glorious HD on my big screen plasma!
Thanks to all the sponsors for making that possible.

Also, I think Ralph, Jeff and RC are doing a nice job. Perfect no, but I like the chemistry.

Very well put USMCMXer. Not hard to understand the payout.

I love the event.
The different format and track make it interesting.
No the track wasn't perfect, but I applaud RC for trying new things. Looking forward to next year!

Make something special for the 250 guys also. Put a big purse up for them. I also enjoy seeing the amateur and Minis.

I might be a little more simple minded than all the experts here but I enjoyed it.
i thought the amateur and mini racers were as good or better than the mains , those amateurs launch 3 into the sand was great to watch

and that kid that wiped the floor in amateurs laps times were bloody quick he would have been up there in the main races

Ya know, I find it kind of funny that the Moto crowd loves to jump at the opportunity to tell you why it's the most badass, dangerous and requires the biggest balls out of all the sports, yet it has the biggest amount of whiny bitches of any sport I follow, by far. And I follow a lot of sports.

I thought the Pro racing was fine, AM's were predictable, Mini's were awesome.

I have been lurking here for a few years and have wanted to join prior to add some comments but didn't want to face the "newb" ridicule but I have to comment on this thread.

I just got back home from the Monster Cup and I wondered who I could send comments to about the audio at Sam Boyd. Why not vital?? Is it Feld or UNLV that sets it up? I have gone to all of the MEC's and a couple of the end of year SX's, but this year was a new low. The screaming by Wes and Buydos and the other chick was awful. Let's get Loud!!! For the first 10 minutes it was ok. The other 40, not so much. Do they not know we cant hear? Am I the only one that couldn't hear? I feel bad for the kids that are trying to thank their parents and sponsors Oh well.

Supercross in October live in HD with most of the heavy hitters there. If I had to choose between not watching the race and watching I'm going to watch everything.

I was so giddy I made a special trip to the store to get a bag of 8$ wings to eat during the race.

I think the format with superminis and rising stars is cool too. Still not sure why the 17 year old was allowed to race supermini though.

It sucked so bad I watched underwater basket weaving finals all day. Although I did sneak the channel back over to catch those epic leaps into the fucking sand! Wow! Oh and Jamie and Jenny on the same broadcast? Wow!

tf do you want?

do you understand how tv works?

If they couldn't sell ad space then it wouldn't even be televised. Draft kings and fan duel are in a pissing match trying to corner the same market so they're smashing everything that is 18-30 y.o. white male- their main demographic.

are we really going to whine about the variety in the commercials?

2nd best race of the year IMO behind MXDN. 3 mains, amateur all stars, 80 all stars and a mill on the line. That's seven very entertaining races. Mains were absolutely stacked this year.
