Graham Henry survived the 07 quarter final loss to france, and then went on to win the next world cup, Woodward got another chance too, and one the next one,

if i was his boss, he would have resigned at the press conference,

At least Graham Henry got out of the pool stage though. This is the first time in history England have not progressed.

Wales lose to Australia. So they play South Africa next week, Aussie play Scotland who only just beat Samoa.

All blacks played better against Tonga.

Knock out time starts.

yes, and the winners all play the second place team from another pool,

after the ireland/france game tomorrow, which will decide who finishes top of that pool, then the rest of the quarter finals will be set,

Ok thanks Scott much like the soccer World Cup
10/11/2015 10:45am
so Ireland beat France, 24-9 so they top pool D

quater finals next weekend are

NZ v France
South Africa v Wales

Ireland v Argentina
Scotland v Australia

now the competition really begins, its do or die form now on,

the NZ France game is the repeat of 2007, where France beat us, same stadium (Cardiff), and if Wayne Barnes is the ref, the whole of NZ will be on edge,

Spydee's Welsh team has a pretty hard run to win this world cup now,

they have South Africa First, 2 times world cup champions,
if they win that they face most likely face NZ, 2 Times world cup Champions and current world number 1,
of they win that, they most likely face Australia, 2 times world cup champions,

considering their have only been 7 rugby world cups, (england won in 2003) its a pretty tough run home

I guess spydees dragons are gonna have a hard time beating South Africa, sadly the only thing I know about rugby is from the movie Invictus but I'm trying, promised spydee I would help cheer his dragons on after him reading all my silly race reports

FYI USA did not have a good tournament, they lost all of there games,

the Welsh do have the ability to beat South Africa, but they have a heap of injuries, but even so, they held the Aussies tryless in the game on the weekend,

My predictions:

NZ to win V France
South Africa to win V Wales (sadly head over heart)

Ireland to win V Argentina
Australia to win V Scotland

I see Australia V NZ in the final, with Australia just clinching the title by less than 5 points.

Over the moon with how Ireland played yesterday, especially the second half after losing O'Connell and Sexton.

Henderson is quickly becoming our most important player.

More bad news this morning on the injures, OConnell and POM is def out of the tournament

As a Welshman I fear us playing against Ireland (than England). World class team, and I wouldn't be entirely surprised if they make it to the finals. The Millennium Stadium seems to be doing you guys wonders also, you always seem to play exceptionally well there even against us!!

It's been an excellent tournament so far, probably the best one since 03 in terms of level of excitement across all pools!
I think the Aussie's will get past the Scots this weekend but the Irish the week after are always very tricky.
The All Black's v Bok's potential SF could be a nail biter, maybe not a classic as it's SA, but NZ have been a little quiet thus far....

I assume this is sparked on by him dropping Sebastien Tillous-Borde? Is it official though? Seems like the worst possible time to gang up on your coach.

Wales got so close, leading with 5 min to go, but a late South African try sunk them,

hard luck Spydee,

Fucking Wayne Barnes - who's bright idea was it to put an English ref in charge of a Welsh game? Even sent Dan Biggar off for a head scan which blatantly wasn't necessary as you could see from Dan's argument. Fuming.

well the real All Blacks finally showed up, that was a thrashing, 62-13, our highest score against the french, and the biggest win, and highest score in the knock out stage of any rugby world cup,

The pumas are currently thrashing the Irish!!
10/18/2015 10:06am
woke up to Aussie on barely getting past Scotland, and how about the Pumas, amazing,

not sure that having the 4 southern hemisphere teams from the rugby championship into the semis is really that good for the world game tho,
10/18/2015 1:42pm
just seen the highlights of the Aussie Scotland game, the Scot's were robbed, that was a shocker of a penalty to decide a knock out game on, hopefully thats the last we see of Joubert,

Devastating for Scotland. I thought we exited the competition unfairly but man nothing gets worse than losing by one point and having yet ANOTHER shocking referee in charge of the decisions.

So much for the "World" Cup now; may as well change the name of it to The Rugby Championship.

yep, bit of a worry that all the northern hemisphere teams are gone,

down here they are saying its because they import so many aged players from SA, NZ and AU, and not letting enough young talent getting enough game time in the big matches,

bloody kiwi's gettin a bit cheeky cause they've finally gotten some form...
against the french....
who self destructed....

the wallabies should never have put themselves into that position, a charge down and intercept for 2 tries, but I agree, very very lucky to get away with that game.

I was worried about the potential Irish semi, the Pumas have done nothing to appease that worry.

93% win rate since the last world cup mate,

hardly just found some form,

I was impressed by the Puma's the rugby championship has done them alot of good, and with a Super Rugby team coming i hope they will become even more competitive,

too see a rugby test against the pumas at home is on my bucket list,
