Fuel pouring out of breather pipe kx125

Hi

I have a lot of fuel pouring out of my carburettor breather pipe when I turn my petcock on and when the bike is running.

I have tried all that I have read to rectify the issue.

Take carb apart and clean all jets, spraying carb cleaner in all nooks and crannies to.( there was dirt in the needle valve assembly so removed that)

Turned petcock off and let bike run until it ran out of fuel and then let carb fill back up again, same problem

Tested float valves themselves in water and there are no cracks and flat valve floats as expected

The float valve moves freely and does not stick..

Is there anything I can check or do to rectify this?

Any help appreciated

if i understand you correctly. The only thing must be to set float valve height.

some carburators you measure them up side down, some at an specified angle

Sounds like the float needle is not seating properly. I would replace the needle and the orifice as well. After that, check the float height. These steps will fix your problem.

Needle and seat.

Happens when you don't run your bike out of fuel and it sits for an extended amount of time. Also, could just be old and worn out.

TMX carbs have this lovely o-ring on the seat of the float valve. When it goes out the float valve cannot seal up the fuel. The o-ring goes between the aluminum carb body and the brass seat that the float valve pushes up into.

IT seems like the Honda valve set is the easiest and cheapest to find. From what I've seen, all the Mikuni TMX carbs have the same o-ring.

Hi Guys,

Apologies for not updating this sooner, the issue seems to have been resolved but we (@Spydee112) are not sure how. We took the card off again, sprayed more carb cleaner to clear all nooks and crannies, put everything back together and now now more fuel leaking, very strange but fixed (for now)
