I don't understand why MXA posts articles on their web site with so many grammatical errors. Can't somebody proofread the articles before posting them?

For some reason the link is not working properly. Go to the MXA website and read their latest article about the one-moto format. It's pretty sad how poorly it was written.

Yep, noticed a lot of mis-spellings since Zap took over writing the Wednesday report. Looks like he's just rushing through it.

I didn't even know MXA had a website.. Are they still in business?

Here it is. Read it. Always amazed at the anti-MXA tilt here--until somebody needs help with their bike or actual product test.

Dear MXA,
I noticed that in the Justin Brayton interview you ask his opinion on the "rumored one-moto format." Is the AMA going to go to one moto for the 2009 series?

We can finally put this rumor to rest. Jody had a conference call with MX Sports' Davey Coombs and John Ayers several days ago to discuss the plans for the 2009 AMA National Championship series. Although the idea of one-moto has been in serious play for the last month, basically because it would be more TV friendly for the six "live" TV shows that are planned this year, it was just decided that for 2009 the Nationals will consist of two motos. Although Jody didn't feel free to talk about everything that was discussed, he did confirm the answer to your question.

The idea of one-moto had traction because it simplifies the one-day Saturday format (two motos, plus qualifying races and last chances does add to the time constraints). With Time Qualifying now out of the picture, there still needs to be practice sessions for both classes (plus the women at many events), qualifying motos, last chances, two women's motos and two motos for each National class. All of this has to fit, not only into the available time frame, but it also has to get the moto that will be live on TV on the line and ready to go when the show is scheduled to be aired. It is a daunting task and the TV times have not been finalized between Speed and NBC. That was why the one-moto format was still a possibility until earlier last week.

The conversation between Jody, Davey, John Ayers and Nick McCabe centered around many of the possibilities, but the final call is that one-moto is tabled for the time being (and will not be used in 2009).

Across the board, MX Sports has made a lot of changes to the AMA National show--which should make it better for the fans. And, despite what James Stewart may do, this year's 250/450 Nationals, with Ryan Villopoto on a 450, a new series sponsor, Saturday Nationals, Live TV, live internet shows, an electronic scoreboard, gettting rid of the "Lites" name (and returning the traditional 250 and 450 National Championship titles), a host of Euro GP riders coming across the pond and the return to qualifying races on the morning of the event, the 2009 Nationals will be a great show.

The answer to your question is that one-moto Nationals idea has been shelved. As for why we asked the one-moto question to Ryan Villopoto and Justin Brayton, we are interested in gauging the position of as many rider's as possible on the one-moto format. Not because it will happen in 2009, but because there are still forces that want it to happen in the future (perhaps 2010). We want the rider's opinions on record.

Please highlight ALL of the grammatical errors for us and make the necessary corrections. Just want to make sure none of us here miss any of them. We'll grade you when you're done.

I would guess that if they type as fast as I do, there are bound to be some errors, big fucking deal read between the lines, they simply want to get the word out to the masses.

Then, when you have time, open your own publication, and you can begin to produce your error free rag.

Yes, true, even " I " have made a mistake before !

(unbelievable)

We don't write for a supposedly major MX magazine. If you do that, you should have someone proofreading the work you are putting out. When running a business you need to be professional, spelling mistakes make the company look, well I think you can guess what it makes the company look like. Seems the only people that support MXA know Jody, or someone who works for them...

I am by no means anti-MXA. In fact, I think they are probably the most hardcore magazine out there and are more dedicated to the sport than any other. Sure, I make mistakes just like anybody else. I just think that a professional publication such as MXA should proofread articles before posting them.

Funny how the west coast guys are mostly pro MXA and the back east dudes seem to always have a "chip on their shoulder" about Jody and MXA.

It was a posting on a website, it's not Shakespeare.

Next thing you know we will start seeing press releases using this new hard-core standard. Anything to be down with what's cool.

You think they are bad. Have you ever read Transworld? Both the website and the magazine are full of grammar and spelling errors.

Well, I like all the magazines.

Remember, they're all racers for the most part, many have hit their heads, some more than others...Still they get to work, and play in the sport we all love.

So if anyone here can live day, to day, mistake free, then you are a better man than I.

I have met many MXA guys, Many Dirt Bike guys, Many Transworld guys, and many Dirt rider guys...they're all cool people, except Jimmy Lewis @ Dirt rider, he is an infrequent bather !

And as far as Jody Weisel goes, I have never been invited to either of his mansions...but right now, he is probably at home, have sex with super models, on a big pile of cash, because I know he make billions, selling magazines.

I never see a typo in the magazine and BFD if there is a typo on the website. I put whining about this into the same category as people who complain about Vital.....

BTW, I know all the MXA Wrecking Crew and am proud to call those guys my friends.

PS Regarding the RC Des Nations deal Steve Whitlock gave MXA the RC information but don't let the facts stop you from flapping.

MXA is the only publication that has never fallen into place to serve as a tool for the AMA, promoters and OEMs. They’ve always spoken the truth even when it painted those in power in a negative way.

In the moto industry, that’s ballsey.

I did see the errors, but it wasn't that bad. I tend to be a bit more lenient when I read online material because of the time nature involved. The worst offender of poor grammar, punctuation and editing is Racer X and Road Racer X. Read either one of these mags (and I like them both) and you'll spot anywhere from one to two dozen mistakes. I even emailed the editors about this. They thanked me and continue to make mistakes. For a magazine that isn't even published monthly, that's inexcusable.
