So I am the owner of the original posters bike now. I be struggled with set up. Some set ups feel good then same set up doesn't. I decided to get showa app and experiment and here's what I found. Any range of air pressure could not get the feel I wanted. It I upped it too much to resist bottoming then mid stroke was too harsh. I was playing with 180 to 187 inner and 185 and up balance. 4 or so in outer. No matter what I did it did not help.
So I went way out and added 40ml to calving side of fork. Still too harsh then I dropped air down to 174 inner 178 balance, and 5 outer. It was absolutely awesome!!!!

I am a 230 lb intermediate rider more like novice but don't always clear things and land where I should so bottoming resistance was important. I am now using all but an inch of travel according to my o ring on fork tube.
I stumble upon these post of people complaining about the mid stroke on square edge bumps. The stock RMZ TAC for is def wayyyyy to stiff in the mid valve. No matter what I tried I could not get it to work. If I made it soft for bumps it bottomed out like crazy. YOU HAVE TO GET THEM REVALVED. I got mine done and it was night and day. I went from wanting to sell the bike to having the best bike ive ever owned.
Listen to me DO NOT even mess with them anymore. Send them to someone who has figured them out.
Now I pound though shin high braking bumps with a smile. I flat landed the finish line table at Daytona and I barely felt it. Go on Youtube and search Troy Collier and watch my Daytona 2015 video for proof. GoPro footage and you will see how high I was. these forks soak up the biggest hits and the sharpest bumps now.

Ha. I've seen that footage before. That's awesome. Trouble is all the tuners don't know what to do with them and suggest ohlins inserts in the UK anyway. I have put on some twin chamber showas . Conventional forks from 2008 and the bike is great now. I'd love to get the air forks working great but I spent nearly 4 months experimenting with them and it was spoiling my fun. As a standard fork I think they are just not ready. I would get them what I thought was somewhere near good then go and try a bike with stock conventional forks and be blown away. Just not what you need when buying a new bike. Thanks for your feedback. In time I'm sure these forks will be as good as conventional.

did you get them revalved Luke???

And as for tuners not being able to figure these forks out, they are so easy to work on and you can actually make base valving changes at the track in just a few minutes......if your tuner cant get them dialed in, i would look for another tuner.

Just like any other fork, pressure builds up in the fork tube. On the damper side you have the standard bleed screw to let the pressure out, on the air side you only have the outer chamber schrader valve. you must bleed that out before every ride like any spring fork.

Don't worry about the oil bubbles, The outer chamber valve passage makes a 90* just below the schrader and above the O-ring that seals the inner chamber. Oil can get splashed up into that horizontal passage way while riding and will bubble out when you bleed the air.
So could you just run a micro fork bleeder screw in place of the Schader valve for the outer chamber?

No, the schrader valve is a much larger diameter than the standard air bleed screw the micro bleeders are designed to replace so it wouldn't fit.
