I'm one of the few on here is disagree with this also. Nothing against Michael Lieb at all but sending 2 riders to ride the mxdn with no chance of winning is kind of spare to me. If Puerto Rico is truly part of the States do it right by sending a team that can compete.
So, you failed Geography, History AND Politics?

Actually, right or wrong, there is a cool story idea here: Another Country, Not My Own-ish... Trampas Parker rode for Italy and won a Moto in 1990; Billy Liles rode for Luxembourg in the eighties, and then got drafted into U.S. Service in 1992 when so many guys bailed and we had to send "the B team." Rob Herring was from South Africa, if I'm not mistaken, but because of Aprtheid, he had to race for Great Britain, and then stayed with the Brits after the end of Aparthied and was on the team that beat the Yanks in Roggenburg.... No matter where you fall on this issue, been a part of this race for one reason or another for a long time. Paging Matthes....

No I understand that Puerto Rico is part of the U.S. But why do we trick this event up even more sending riders that have no chance. Did you fail common sense or are you just being the expert you are on here ? We sent a girl one time really ? Ok if it's part of the U.S let's get a private fund going and send 3 riders from the U.S like Stewart,Canard and Osborne. I have no problem with the original thread as the young man is living his dream. But I could care less to see his team ride just like I could care less to watch a team from Iran ride.

"We" did not send a girl. Tara Geiger is an actual Puerto Rican and rode for her home country at the MXDN.

I'm guessing she has about 7 more X-games medals than you do.

Sweet and I'm sure she would not pay or support me to go watch me race and get destroyed. I watched her one time fall down on the start decline. All I need to know about her riding and her 7 X games medals. Again just my personal opinion on having a team from Puerto Rico ride this event. Good luck Lieb or Geiger or who they send to this event.

Micheal was invited to race for Puerto Rico; but, there's virtually NO FUNDING from PR. It really is an American "B" Team.

Micheal's scraping together the $ to go.
I'm contributing.
Dixon's supplying the bike.

Know this: I -WILL NOT- penalize Micheal simply 'cause he's Don's kid.
If it was your kid, & you're a black-listed persona-non-grata, I'd help your kid, too.

Know this II: if Jeff ALESSI shows us that he's "still got it"...
I'll help him, too.

I love racing, I love these kids & these opportunities to help a fellow racer make me feel pretty fuckin' stoked...
There's a name for this:
Sharing the Stoke

Besides, I got to where I'm at due to the tolerance, patience, guidance, continual-forgiveness and the help of so many people.

Pay it forward.

Still Stoked!

Manny

Good man Team green

And good luck young fella, hope the race goes well and funding arrives.

i think ... back in the days, the license you had was the most important thing. If you had an Italian license, you could race for the Italian MXON team. I think you also needed an adress in the country.
Back in the days, Belgium had also a A and B team. The B team was Luxemburg, who mostly had 3 Belgian riders in the team. They all had a Luxemburg license becaus only top 8 in Belgium could race Gp's. So a lot of riders switched to a Luxemburg license.

They changed that rule.

If Puerto Rico can't afford to field a team, why are they inviting people to be on it?

I cannot stand it when people get on here begging for money for their sport. However, the way Mr. Lied wrote it I thought it was good & put in a way that makes it okay, in my mind. However, I won't be giving any money but do wish you luck

x2, 2015 way of society now, i guess you cant blame them for asking, but there are plenty ways to make fast cash, lawns, car wash, sell toys that you dont need. etc. work hard, play hard. There are plenty things in life i want and cant afford and i do without. ànd if my father saw me on the internet asking for money, i would have a black eye. lol.

Hey everyone...

Listen, I am not sitting here begging for money and I also 100% respect the people that don't wish to help out and believe in other ways of going about this. I myself am not a big fan of doing this sort of thing but sometimes we all need a little help and that is why I've created this. If people like it, great... If not, there is no harm in that either.

This is simply an opportunity that I am grateful for and most definitely looking forward to as well. Like I said previously, it has been a long year and this is also a great way for me to get myself better prepared for the 2016 season after missing most of 2015... Speaking of mowing lawns and ETC... For those of you that don't know, I have also started the company Canvas Mx to not only help this sport with something to help itself, but to give back to those that are looking to support their supporters in better ways as well by branding those that deserve more.

I am not in this sport to make a living, I am in this sport to see a childhood dream come true and I will get there sooner than later. Trust me, I think we can all agree that if we all raced dirtbikes to make a living, we should've went to Law school. LOL.

Again, I appreciate all of you for taking the time to read my post and for those that both support my idea and don't, I thank you all.

Some of you appear to be crappy humans. Others are not nearly as funny as you think you are.

If you want to help, cool. If you don't, sit on the sidelines and keep your pieholes shut.

Is that what it costs to do a race? $7500?
I guess my question is since it has stalled at $3000, will you go no matter how much you get?
