All of the above plus, huge intimidating crowd, Euro tire suppliers will make our guys think they're on slicks, different gas and different muffler means an unfamiliar bike. Steep terraced hills with narrow switchbacks on the hillsides. Nobody really wants to speak English (why should they), great food at the concession stands at the back of the spectator area on the top of the valley. See for yourself. The dollar is strong. Oh, and it might rain too.

I went to a 250 GP at Ernee many years ago and it looks like the same layout. It's a typical French hillside track and there's barely a single turn that isn't an off camber and even the straights are slanted from side to side. The downhills are scary fast and steep. Dense and stoney clay soil. Very technical especially in the wet as it was when I was there. My money's on Team France.

It's a great to watch at as you can see just about the whole track from a single POV.

Not to question you since you were there in person but I noticed when watching video of MXoN 2005, that the majority of the turns have berms into the hillside which i woudnt consider off-camber at all. Is that the case or am I missing somthing?

I don't believe having a berm or not negates the angle of the corner.

Yeah and the only one close to RC all week was Townly. RC was very high on BT when he came stateside.

BT was the man, i always wonder what would have been if he didn't have that big crash in practice at the '07 MXDN. seemed like ever since that crash he never really hit the same strides. that season between he and RV was some of the flat out best racing i can remember ever watching. RC and James didn't disappoint that year either

IMO 06 and 07 was about as good as national motocross got. JS v RC and RV vs Alessi and then a real challenger with BT. I was actually always amazed at how well BT did against RV considering RV was almost always faster but did not posses the race craft of BT. Your right though about BT in 07 MxDN although I think he could have built on his 2010 MX season if not for more injuries.

First impression...the track is way to NARROW..then you add in the stupid ass picket fence and we have a track unworthy of this race. Starts are going to mean everything and that's to bad.

After watching this video, I think that Febvre will be awesome at des nations. He scrub that jump so hard though.

not a rut, a good size berm that everyone was railing. Granted there were a few offcambers and some of the bermed corners may be off camber on the inside line. To me off camber is when there is no berm and you wait on the smallest rut to form. Maybe the clip I watched everything had been pushed out.

I am a fan of the natural terain layouts. I know sometimes the technical tracks are not as action packed for tv or the common fan but to focus on a technical section and watch different riders approach is what makes me enjoy watching a race in person.

I believe that Pirelli is the premier supplier to the top teams in MXGP, with Husqvarna, KTM, and Yamaha using them, I see this as a distinct advantage. Barcia's runs Pirellis and believe he will get the best Pirelli can provide, as long as he asks for the right ones Blink Whistling Cheerful

Ha Ha, what a great take on the MXDeN. The Euros want to ride on a track that the U.S. Will flounder on. We should run the race at a track that is the most difficult for them to conquer, and I think that next years race at Glen Helen, is a great choice.

Your mistaken, as most Germans are about most things. Tongue I went to Ernee in 2003 to see Stefan Everts complete the one day "Hat trick" of winning all three classes in one day. And my comment about the tracks is more general. I think each country (and Europe" is not a country, but you probably think most Americans think it is) should pick, if possible, the track in their home, that suits the home team riders best. Also, I've been to about 15 to 20 GP's, all the way from Los Angeles, including the 1980 MXDeN, 1984 Trophee and MXDeN (the last of the 250 and 500 class), 1987 MXDeN New York, and Ernee 2003.

Tight track, one-lined, difficult to pass, start will be crucial, boring races, ...

On the other hand, Barcia's starts are fantastic this season. This might give him the advantage. Webb's starts has been pretty good as well (except for Unadilla).

Does it not look narrow to you? My comment has nothing to do with excuses. Obviously, if it is narrow and hard to pass on everyone will have to deal with that.....it just seems to me that the start is huge on this track, and that isn't...in my opinion...a great track for the nations.

Good for you! I have been to a couple of des nations like Namur, Ernee, Budds Creek, Lommel and Thunder Valley. Nothing beats Ernee, it was amazing. Those who say this is a poor place to hold this race obv never been there. To be fair I was too young to really remember the complete experience of Namur and Budds was awesome too, but Ernee just was on a higher level
