I'm restoring a real creampuff 96' CR250 that I happened across and although the OEM shrouds and graphics are in good shape, I really want to go pristine with this bike since the starting point is so nice and I did find a new complete set of plastics for it. Does anyone know where I might find a set of either 1-800-COLLECT or OEM graphics for the 95-96 CR's? An enterprising person may do well to start reproducing the old 2-stroke graphics sets, as I've noticed a lot of old oil-burners being resurrected this summer and I think the trend will continue....

Funny you mentioned this .... throttle jockey is actually working on some replica kits for the CRF's they should be sick! I'm getting a set for sure as far as yours go you can probably have one of the custom graphics companies whip up a set for you. Check this out

I couldn't afford to use 1-800-Collect because I spent too much money on 1-900-INFMOTO

I just sold a set I had from when I worked for Tecnosel. they were the same ones that Mcgrath and Lamson used at the MXofN. I still have a set of "on the line" racing RC of japan graphics and some preprinted backgrounds for Lamson and Albertyn

I may still be able to get them from Honda. I can't figure out the parts fiche diagrams at the online OEM parts sellers, so I'll need to visit a dealer to see if they can sort it out. If anyone knows the part numbers of the stock stuff, please forward! Getting back to the bike, it's completely stock, right down to the chain, sprockets and front tire (rear has been replaced). It was a playbike for a guy who didn't ride very often and stored it in his walk-out basement, so it's really well preserved. But the amazing thing is how it RUNS! I've had a lot of 2-stroke 250's over the years and I don't remember any of them having both the bottom-end grunt AND killer top end that this thing has. And the engine is quiet....none of the clatter that I've gotten used to after riding 4-strokes for the past 5 years. I took the engine out of the frame and plan to do nothing but clean it up and detail it....it needs nothing. Honda really used to build em' good.....my 06' 450F sounds like it's about to grenade at any minute and it always has. The neat thing is that the engine fasteners (cylinder head nuts, carb boot clamps, clutch cover bolts, etc) have never seen a wrench or screwdriver, so they don't look mangled like most bike this age do. Bone stock baby....

Here's my '96 rider. I didn't want it too nice because I wanted to ride it. Those are actually left over '95 Team Honda graphix. I bought a full set (shrouds, tank name, tank, and fender arch) from Throttle Jockey. Call them up, they should have some left. You should know though that they are not vented. Mine have been on the tank now for about two months and are all bubbled up and are starting to yellow in the white areas.

I agree the motor on this thing RIPS. It's got to be as strong as my 450 easy. I plan to do some suspension tuning and race the thing some around here. I'm also looking for a '96 Pro Circuit Works pipe for it.

The factory plastic and graphics on the '95s were UGLY. Throttle Jockey also sells the factory replica front number plate. If you order one though you've got to order me one. I haven't been able to come up with the $55 yet.

Oh yeah. This is sort of what it looked like when I got it. Actually, it was mostly in boxes but all the pieces seemed to be there. It had a stock front fender but it was so faded past pink I put a left over off a CRF250r on it just to ride it around the yard.

Nice bike - I love it! I was a Yamaha guy back when these bikes were out, just because i was sick of seeing so many of them. But now, I really like and appreciate the old Honda's. I wish I had taken photos of mine before I tore it down...I was so excited to get started on it that it never occurred to me. The frame is off to the powder coater and I have the wheels torn down so I can buff the oxidation off the spokes and hubs. It won't be my full-time bike, but I do plan to ride it a lot, especially in the woods and trails and general play riding where I don't like the 4-stroke. In 4 or 5 years it will be beat up and I'll restore it again, but I'll never sell it!

My buddy and I were talking about the old 1-800-collect days at the retro Atlanta SX, so I decided to call it. It's still active.

It is so funny to hear people call the oem 95 graphics ugly. I thought they were sooo cool Smile Its just funny to see the different generations of riders growing up and what was cool and what was ugly really is so all over the map.
