Fixed my lack of bottom end (2000 kx250)

Bought a stock cylinder head from ebay for $9-free shipping. Measured new head volume by using a syringe to fill chamber with oil(head not installed). The old head held 1/4 more oil! I dont know what my comp. Ratio was on the old head, but it mustve been super low. Id machined out the damage on the old head before i rebuilt the bike. Bike now has a fair amount of bottom pickup (i suspect the pro circuit pipe still is killing some bottom tho). Its a totally different bike now Smile

Good to hear. Do you know what squish and compression ratio are you running now?

Whatever the stock ratio is, i assume. Im betting that the original head that i had to machine the divots out of probably has 5:1 ratio lol. All i know is that i had a razor thin, all top end powerband. The upside is that it ran beautifully on cheap gas Smile

I took a 55 mile trail ride last weekend and i had to drag the clutch to climb most of even the smallest hills. Ive got a 12 tooth sprocket coming that should help as well. Also orderd handgurads and a light lol.
My nephew has a 2013 ktm 250 mxc and riding it gave me the enduro bike bug. Ill wire the light into the powerjet circuit so i can make it home after dark.

Be careful with a 12 tooth sprocket. That's pretty small and will load the shafts differently. It'll also cause the chain to come off the slider at a different angle and probably wear it faster and get it into your swingarm. Just things to consider.

I know, right? Ill still try to get a stock pipe but this new head really improved my situation immensely. I literally had to burn the clutch on the trails last weekend due to zero low end.
