Hello pete if your not to busy could you do me a massive favour ?

I was wondering if you would try to fit the radiator shrouds from your 1987 YZ125, onto your 1987 YZ250 and please let me know if they look and fit onto the fuel tank from the YZ250 ok

The reason i ask is because i still cannot find a set of shrouds for my 87 YZ250

I can get a new set of UFO shrouds for an 87 YZ125 in the uk but i am unsure if they will fit the mounting holes on my YZ250

If you could try the 125 shrouds on your 250 and let me know what they fit like, it would be gratefully appreciated

You are the only person i know who owns both bikes, so your the only person i could think of to ask

Regards andy86

UFO only makes shrouds for the 125, so if your saying they don't fit then i won't bother buying them, thanks for the reply though

Given your reply i am guessing you don't like my project, which is fine, your entitled to your opinion

I just don't like to follow the crowd, i like to be different, i don't want a bike that looks like everyone else's

But again that's just my opinion, i just think the world would be a little boring if everybody liked the same thing

Im assuming that pete meant that since you werent building a "concours restoration"-level bike as a trophy room item, then paying out the nose for stock shrouds is unnecessary. Id only go that route if it were a master replica that wont be ridden. On the other hand, maybe pete hates it and was being a smartass lol. Id assume the former.

X2 Andy seems a little defensive here, asks for a favor then gets his panties in a bunch. Wink

Fair point mate, the problem being i have full UFO kit fenders, rear side panel's and the new clarke all being a very shiney high gloss finish

But for some strange reason UFO don't make the radiator shrouds for the 86-87 yz250

So the only thing that will match up to the plastic's i already have, is the yam oem shrouds

The only other aftermarket choice would be dcplastics , i can't stand the dull finish or the overall quailty of their plastic's

And for the record i meant no disrespect whatsoever to pete, i already kinda knew pete wouldn't like my build due to the fact he worked at yamaha dealership in 87 and i knew he had a heartfelt sentimental attachment to these bikes in their oem and original showroom spec color and scheme

I thanked him for his reply and simply stated he was entitled to his opinion postive or negative, as we all are
