maybe it;s just karma, maybe like Riccky always said "you make your own luck"

BUT the worst moto of his outdoor season, the track, the rain, the mud, the possibilty of DNF very high............AND HE STILL LOSES NO POINTS ON THE DAY!!!!!!

Say what you will but all that "Tomac crashes Dungey never makes mistakes" talk is nonsense. That crash could easily have been a season ender. Glad he's okay, I guess when things are going your way, things are going your way.

He seemed upset with no knowing the status of moto 2.. maybe he didn't want to get his gear muddy.

Next time some of you guys make it to the podium you will have your minute all to yourself and you can use it to say how much you dislike anybody making a religious reference on the podium. Until then you'll have to settle for whining about it on a message board. Dungey earned that time...props to him for it.

Whatever he's doing it seems to work for him.

His smooth riding style, great fitness and above average intelligence has more to do with his success than anything else.

Couldn't agree more.

I guess some people would like his speech regulated. At least he wasn't wearing a rebel flag!

Religious debate aside there is one thing nobody (at least nobody that was there) can deny; he rode his ass off in that second moto. He and Justin almost collided before the uphill because it was so slippery. He didn't quite clear the jump and went down. Rode the whole race without a front fender which is sketchy as hell and had to go to the pits for fresh goggles. He earned it fair and square and it made for great racing. Why can't some of you just appreciate it for what it is?

There must be a reason there's a old saying "never talk about politics or religion in mixed company...
or polite company...

Do you think those happened by chance? Or is there a possibility that a close family unit inspired by religion supported him and had an effect on the way he lives his life? Which allowed him to grow into the person he is? Going out on a limb here but, if you had a chance to hang at the track with Dungey for a day, pretty sure your first thought wouldn't be "I'll pass, he's too religious"

The problem is there's more than one will in this world and every damn one of us thinks ours is the only correct one.
We're all full of shit.

Ryan made a good day out of a potential "fail".

Business as usual.

I'll have to go with a "yes" that his faith has a something lot to do with it.

And another thing: the dude seems cool and humble whenever I see him interacting with ANYONE...from fans to people that he works with everyday; and, I've witnessd this on good days...& bad.

So, while so many of y'all seem to need to get butt-hurt about his "shout-outs" from the podium...

Me? I just think...

That's Ryan Dungey.
That's who he is.
And he's cool with me.

This ^^^ post sums it up.. How about we all just show some respect to those that have different beliefs than we do. Isnt that what American freedom is all about?

thanks Team Green as I also believe that his faith and the way he operates has ALOT to do with it....along with his family and upbringing

yeah after ya'll turned it into a religious battle I edited it........wasn't what i was trying to say

Outsider, you took it all wrong as I did not think that God intervened to make his day, just that it is amazing on how it turned out when it could have been disastrous..........as I kept saying whether it is faith in God, karma, or just plain luck

anyway lesson learned..............but it really is so sad and so pathetic about how much many of you genuinely hate other peoples beliefs Shocked

I didn't take it wrong.. your original title had "the man upstairs" in it.. you edited and have now changed your tune a bit.

Should have stuck by what you originally said.

Edit: And don't assume I have no beliefs because I questioned what you originally said. I do, but I don't believe a higher power is managing RD's racing career.

the title did not dictate the body of the post, if you read it and understood it..........I said exactly........and I am not changing my stance AT ALL

" you can believe or not, maybe it is karma, maybe it is like Ricky always said "you make your own luck"..

"but it is incredible how he turned what could have been disastrous, wit the track, the mud, high potential of DNF into walking away without losing any points.

sol if you werent so determined to argue I was saying you can acll it however you like, but somehow Dungey turned around a very bad day with no negative repercussions...........whatever makes ya happy Cool

Thank you for reposting that... like I said..

"The man upstairs" and "you can believe or not, "

That's what I'm referring to and I don't think I got it wrong. The other guys took it the same way until you edited.

Anyways I'm over it, just wanted to get it straight.

Not to be a dick but, what was so miraculous? This wasn't Southwick 2011 starting almost a lap down from pit road!

It wasn't a "very bad day" he turned around as he WON the first moto. At best it was simply one bad moto! He crashed at the start, many riders have done similar and continued. He is very fit and works hard to combat injuries through his fitness. Same as RC, James, RV Chad etc. I watched the race after reading this thread and at the 22:00 + 2 lap mark he was in 16'th and then by the last lap he was in 11'th(before the second crash). Then finished 12'th. Making up 4 positions in what... 27 minutes?

While it's true he didn't lose any points to KROC, but that's more a testament of Roczen's inability to perform and capitalize as Dungey's main championship rival. If the riders behind Ken were more capable of winning you could definitely say they "made up" valuable points on the leader.

Yes you could say "It could have gone soo much worse... ", but it also could have gone so much better Wink

Glad he didn't get injured.

I believe...that some of you need a new hobby.

I just trimmed five pages of crap down to one page.

And all these years when Ryan said, "The Man upstairs," I thought he was talking about Roger. Wink

Odd that AC92's personal comment from his vital account was clipped from this thread, I thought it was impressive for only his 2nd post to be standing up for what he believes in.

Hmm...I missed it. Maybe he quoted one of the other posts that I deleted? There was a lot of crap in here.

For the record, I have no problem with people thanking whoever they want to thank on the podium.

Interestingly, there are Santa Claus comments still in this thread, but the Christ centered ones got clipped.

Maybe the guys on the podium that 'thank the man upstairs' will think twice about giving certain people interviews next time.

It was buried in the first or second page so I can see that being easily done, and basically overlooked by the regular pitchforks and torches of a select few.. Surprised it went unnoticed by many honestly. Cheers AC, well done
