I dropped my suspension off at Factory Connection, will be able to ride it next week and give you a report.

I was in Indiana with Michael Lindsy for the 2016 KTM Intro. The bikes looks great, but stoked they gave the FE a different look with the Orange frame and parts. Not much different, the changed the mapping slightly on the 16 but I think the Tokyo mods map will solve the problem.

I did ask them about when I should check the valves on my FE and the media mechanics said they have 50-60 hours and nothing has moved. They are also running the fmf pipe...

Just had mine done at factory the put the bvc cup kit in valves front and rear and stiffer springs in the front. The bike is unbelievable now I've had them do suspension in the past with good results but not this good. They completely transformed the bike. It's firm but plush super consistent and the bike is so balanced. Square edges at high speed are no problem now. The harder I rode it that's when it really shines. I think you'll be happy! Make sure you get the bvc cup kit and not just revalves it only an extra 90 bucks

Awesome to hear, I had them do the BVC Kit. One of the KTM mechanics at the 16 Intro also had good things to say about the Factory Connection setup. Stoked to try it out.

What sag and fork height are you running with the new set up?

I just saw this photo on Instagram from the KTM dealer shower today. Looks like some new FMF options coming down the pipeline for the FE and 16 models....

Was there some comment that mentioned different options? Or are they just filling a display with pipes from other KTM models?

Just assuming because all the other products on the wall should be things they are trying to sell to the shop... Here's the full photo...

From working at a dealership, my guess is they're showcasing the "hard parts." This includes all models. I see two stroke pipes and silencers up there, and there's probably pipes still offered for the previous years four strokes. I'm guessing it's the one pipe option from FMF. And you might see an akrapovic option which prices itself out for most people. You can pretty much trash two FMF pipes for the cost of one akrapovic.

I may be wrong, it's just my guess from having attended those meetings in the past.

Those red plates are sweet!! But do you guys get joked on? "Here comes the champions" seem to be common practice to people with red plates.

What if I told you that some vet classes use red plates...

I remember 3-10 years ago when you could buy the full titanium Akrapovic system for like 1-1,2k. What happened? A full Akrapovic system is insanely expensive these days.

I remember that everyone with an aftermarket exhaust in Finland had Akrapovic, not anymore.

Here in New England the 50+ plus class if you're an expert like we both are we'd be running white plates with black or red numbers and the senior master class in the J-Day off road series runs red plates with white numbers so we're running the Jday plates in both organizations and no one has said anything to us. We run transponders in the NESC MX series so it's not a huge deal. Jack #14 has already won a bunch or races and I think is leading the points and I've gotten a bunch of 2nds. I do love the look of the red plates on the FE's and I couldn't care less what people think or have to say. I stopped caring what people had to say in the 70's :-)

Does anyone know what the bend is on the stock bars by chance?

Neken makes the bars this yr and while I like the bend I have to have a crossbar so I emailed Neken and they were very cagey about the bend and would only give me the bars specs so I got the closest bend that Renthal had in a Twinwall.

Well every high-end titanium system is in that range. The Akrapovic is 1650€ to my KTM sxf 450 2014, that is insanely expensive when i can get a Yosh, PC or what ever other brand for about 1-1,2k

Hey Digger you mind sharing the specs? I'm the same way, I like the stock bend but prefer a crossbar.

How does the fe250 compare to 15 yz250f. I just got off a 14 350 that i setup with jbi spring perch and mxt check valve in the shock . I thought that bike was unreal but for my riding i prefer to be able to be on top of the power more. I picked up a 15 yz250f with 15hrs on dirt cheap . First ride even with the wrong spring rate i was instantly faster and doing longer , harder motos. This made me really happy but also disappointed. I loved my ktms but this bike just works and is cheaper.

I deleted the email from them but after comparing the specs they sent with all of the Twinwall bars I settled on the 921 and I love it on the FE.

I was just at the track and half way through the day my battery crapped out on me. seemed to be normal and then all of a sudden, nothing. checked it with a voltmeter when I got home and there is essentially no voltage. anybody hear of this? or know where to get a replacement in one day's time?

Not sure how long you have had the bike? It's very important before first use to charge the battery for 24 hours.

I belive 1 guy on the site has had a simaler problem, not sure on the outcome though. It's either in this thread or the "450 feedback" thread...

As for getting that exact battery in a day, I wouldn't imagine it's possible, but I bet you can find something that will work.

I had the same problem. I brought it to my KTM dealership and they stood behind it and replaced the battery. They said it was a bad battery. Bummer was it was working perfect with no issues prior.

There is a battery replacement warranty for FE's. Ask your dealer if you haven't been notified.
