Wow MXB2, you really got me there!!!

Reality is that Davi has been runner up twice in the most extreme series on two wheels. Your accomplishments are what again? Of yeah, living in reality~ or lack there of? Your mindset is that of a 12 year old boy just barely starting puberty....move on grom!

he's not young and hungry anymore, he's got 1 kid, with a second on the way iirc? He needs a paycheck and he still has a name.

He doesn't have the WIM found in your top runners anymore. dunge, young AC, Martin, webb, martin, tomac-- these dudes are hungry and chasing titles or trying to add to their legacy- Millsaps isn't with that. If he were he would have been in shape.

When Mike tyson talked about training under Cus he talked about getting up and running at 430-5am- he hated it. He relished the mental edge it created knowing that he was training when his opponents were sleeping.

There is a very small window where guys are healthy enough and hungry enough to be willing to endure the suffering it takes to have the edge or be on par with your competition. Davi is beyond that window because his goals and responsibilities have shifted.

That's neither good nor bad, it just is what it is.

You keep holding on to those second place supercross finishes. But in 2015, which is the most relevant year to a sponsor, he got 13th. So if he's capable of second and delivering 13th...I'd say that's failing to deliver.

Or we can use your theory of riders best results, find some past champion (doesn't matter when they won it) and say they're a great investment for a sponsor. After all, they're capable of winning a championship.

Current results matter far more than previous ones. For all of Davi's hype, he fails to deliver.

Huh? By your logic Villopoto, Stewart, Roczen, Reedy, Tomac and especially tc41 would all have been in gutter. Have a look at his results from the beginning of the year to what he ended up with before being terminated. Results were getting on point. As for me holding on to what he has done, well as an employee of this industry for a bit over 15 years I can honsetly say thats part of his resume and it will stick with him the rest of his career. Without it he would have never been given the Kawasaki ride in the first place.

It always boggles my mind that guys like Millsaps choose to have a bunch of kids in the prime of their careers, and still expect to be competitive. Yea, getting 3 hours of sleep per night and all the other stuff is gonna help you get wins. So dumb, why not wait until your career is over like MC and RC.
IF the wife "gets it" then she'll handle the mom stuff and let the breadwinner get appropriate rest. The dynamics would naturally be very different if the Mr isn't working or if the Mrs is working a regular job, then baby duties would logically change to something that isn't lopsided with diaper duty.

Its because Davi has burnt up too many bridges...I'm no fan boy of Davi. However I respect what he has done.

I respect his skills, imo , not worthy of a factory ride again, unless top 3 or a title, which aint happening. He had chances , screwed up ktm, factory kawy. live and learn by burning bridges.

I'm sure those extra two weeks will mean the difference between 17th and 11th. Big woop. I believe I'll go with a quote from Cooper Webb here... "racers race."

but a guy like Davi could build a factory bike...... i just can't fathom a guy of his caliber not having bikes of his own to train on..... for instance, have you seen his boats? he has the money for personal bikes.
Guys like Davi (and I don't mean this in a bad way) don't feel like they should have to go out and spend $10,000 to buy a new 450 then another $10,000 on parts just so they can practice. I mean would you want to spend $20,000 of your own money just to be able to go and do your job every day? Im a mechanic so I get excluded from that last sentence lol snap on payments suck Unsure

So Davi has set up his own program to go racing and people are bitching about his timeline to return, when it's his decision to go racing. Dizzy

This wasn't directed at you (you brought up the subject in a much more discussion-based manner), I meant my comment towards some of the completely over-the-top posters in this thread.

His Thor contract was terminated. He's just wearing O'Neal for now, mentions it in the interview I did with him.

Christian Craig must not read Vital. He apparently doesn't know that you can't get in race shape just by buying a bike and training on your own.

8th, 8th,3rd, 11th, 11th, 11th, 19th, 10th, 9th... overall

due to injuries or whatever... one good year for a factory rider...

Showing up for the last few races when you have all the money, resources and time Millsaps has, means you don't actually care about the championship itself, you care about getting a ride for next year in Supercross and that's frustrating for a lot of fans.

I remember well in 2005 or something when Mike Brown had nothing lined up for the first time in his career, weeks before the nationals started. I believe he said he walked into Pro Circuit and splurged out $30k for Mitch to build him a racebike and figured out all of the travelling and logistics in less than 2 weeks. That kind of stuff means you have the actual desire to go racing, which is something I respect hugely. Same goes for all of the privateers that spend their every last dime chasing their dreams and drive 10000s of miles zigzagging the country for next to nothing in return.

What I don't respect is a guy with a huge bank account showing up for a few races to land a deal for next year and cash in. Or even worse, a guy that refuses to ride a certain manufacturers bike, but can do mountain bike races instead. I bet he didn't refuse the paycheck.

A lot of talk here about his success "2 years ago".

There's a lot of talk about it behind the scenes too. (By industry people)

Many felt then that his sudden unexplained success was "enhanced".

And now its looking like that there is substance to those suspicions.

If what we saw this season from Milsaps is him riding clean (because lets face it, anybody who was doing PED's cant now with all the scrutiny) then that's not worthy of a ride.

Remember when Lance came back and rode clean in that Tour? To prove to everybody? Well that was reality. Horrible results.

Theres a reason for whats happened/happening to Milsaps we are not privy to.
