So how many no 1's will the Oil have now?

Nail Yakapov i know. Eberly? Hall? RNH? and Shultz?

At least it wasn't the leafs. I could care less about the team, but damn its fun to watch them melt down. The city is so hard on them.

Hall, RNH, Yakapov. Three #1 overall. Now #4.
The oilers need a big, mean, defenseman. I.e. Chris Pronger, Nick lindstrom type, Maybe a top 4 goalie. + 100% more heart. They need a defenseman that will put the hurt on any swede that enters the zone. Particularly Vancouver pesky swedes. Then this defenseman has to let Ryan Getlaf know he can never go in front of Edmontons net again, or career over. Ideally Chara. However to old. Evil Evil Evil

Like a Kronwall?Laughing I love watching that guy, just hate the dead wings. Hawks need some grit too. Shaw and Sharp are not tuff guys.

What all did I miss tonight? I was busy watching the Royals get shut out by the A's. That was fun.

New Gm, new CEO, next week new coach. Biggest real change in decade. Get rid of lowe, McT. New #1 pick in 6 weeks. Maybe a big D in the works. New Arena next year. Back to the oil of old " Dynasty". I feel for Buffalo, they should have won the draft draw. What is it with Buffalo not winning championships??

Chirrelli did a good job building the bruins, but he sure didn't maintain them. dumb trades and bad drafting.

Got our first seven game series with the Capitals and Islanders. Who do you guys have advancing? I think the Capitals will pull it off.

Excellent. Hawks are going to give Anaheim the Boot. Stanley Cup #3. Revenge is a powerful motivator. Lost last yr to L.A. Because of a lucky bounce in OT. Not going to happen this year.Woohoo Grinning

My bet is Anaheim for the cup. Rangers guy myself and has been since Messiers days. They're in a hole and can't score. Been good against Washington the last seasons but Hank can't save them unless they start to find the net.

But the Hawks aint no Flames or Jets. They have Speed, Talent, Depth and lots of experience. The ducks will be a pretty big test but we are still Talking about Toews, Kieth and company. Oh yeah don't for get about that guy named patrick (or the other one named patrick) Laughing

I'm not betting against you, Hawks have found their core team. I wanted Rangers to go for Sharp several years ago. The only dumb signing I see Hawks did the last years was Hossa, yes he produces a lot and brings experience to the team, but his cap is way too high and the length of his contract is a joke. Hopefully Glen Sather is doing his last season as GM in Rangers and his trading mentality will go out with him. He's always signed status players like Gretzky, Jagr, Näslund, Gaborik, Nash, St Louis etc. He goes for one player that fills the cap hit and they're stuck with young prospects that has to leave when their value increases. The old man will never learn. And when you root for a team like that and see teams like Hawks, Ducks, Kings and Pens that has built their team for years, you can't do anything else than envy their trading mentality. Glad I'm not an Oilers or Leafs fan though.

I agree with Big Hoss' contract. But the better not get rid of him to pay for Kane and Toews next season. I hope its Pickles, he makes 4.4 to check every now and again. Big dummies are a dime a dozen. Any of the "core" players will be very tough to replace (Sharp, Kieth, Seabrook, Hjalmerson,Hoss,) On the other hand, the hawks are kinda like the rangers in the fact that they give up prospects because they know they won't break the lineup with guys like i mentioned above. Like Kevin Hayes for the Rags. (and Pirri, and the other Hays)

I agree they gave up a lot for St. Louis, as I type this he just made a sweet pass to Brassard to scoreTongue

I can't believe the Rags gave up Duclair! I thought he was really good.

I really hope we get to see Anaheim vs Chicago. That will be an incredible series. Minnesota made a run tonight, but couldn't quite come all the way back.

Chicago is looking damn strong right now and will get a couple of extra days off for finishing the series early.

Anaheim will drop Calgary.
I was sure that Anaheim would go to the finals, but Chicago was so strong against Minnesota, that I ain't so sure anymore.

I'm happy if a Finn wins Stanley cup. Wich means either Blackhawks, Ducks or Lightning.
Maybe Kimmo Timonen from Blackhawks would deserve it the most.

The NHL will be better when we get rid of European Hockey Players. They are no good anyways.Evil
L.A. Winning the cup was the best outcome for the NHL. Movie industry recognizing it as a legitimate sport besides football, baseball. California has embraced hockey which then becomes broadcast over the southern states.
I like football. Great sport. However our seasons are too short for football. Perfect conditions for hockey. Cool

Biggest surprise to me this playoff is Calgary. Johnny Goudreau . I.e. Johnny Hockey. This kid ( all 150lbs ). Has impressed me with his ability to play in this tough, fast league.

I know what you mean. Selänne, for example didn't do anything good for the hockey in California. Evil

I like the Euro players. I couldn't imagine the hawks without Oduya (but i will get used to in next year), Kruger, Tuevo and Hjalmersson.

Win it For Timmo!!

Not like Gretzky, Lemieux, Messier, Lafluer, Richard, Orr, Howe, Sakic, Crosby, Toews, Kane. Those are just a few! North Americans rule. F&@%. I wish the Olympics were on again. Kick Europeans butt. Evil Evil
