I know he injured his hand in England, but even before that he was very much off the pace in Maxxis and the three first GP's.
It just shows what a mental game MX is. How it can sometimes be easier to have a great breakthrough year in MX1/MXGP but so hard to make the transition to be there every race and every season.
I was ready to write Strijbos off a few years ago when he was struggling at Kawasaki. But he somehow found his groove again and delivered top five's and even podiums again.
Besides what's happening in the top 5 it's also very interesting to follow the guys who are struggling. I'm almost certain JVH can turn his season around. I'm not so sure about Frossard and KDD.
Febvre is very impressive so far. He was great already last year in mx2 but could have had even better results without crashes here and there that kept him from podiums and even overall wins. They were very understandable and easy to forgive since he was still improving and pushing to the limit. This year however he seems to ride inside his limits(although at the very top of his capacity) It's hard to tell how good he can get, but it looks very promising. I think he benefits from being the 2nd rider in that team as well. If he was to get injured now he could probably still get a raise in his contract next year. JVH quite the opposite.
Does anyone know anything about KDD? I'm hoping to see him deliver some good results and cheer for him but not much to smile about so far as a fan of the Belgish giant. Could he be a solution at Kawasaki next year? Both he and Paulin are tall guys that like bmx at least...

I have to say that he hasnt done anything now for 2 seasons pretty much , and it shows , the speed isnt there, and i dont really think that it ever has been on a big bike , he is a victim of the 250 age limit as much as anyone else.
As for where to Kawasaki go now.. well i dont see Anstie as enough of a threat yet to be the man in MX2 when Herlings goes, but i would look at Herbetreau and Sterry for MX2 , to be a good start at rebuilding the CLS base, and then for MX1 , i cant see Yamaha letting Febvre go any time soon, or JVH either, as there arent any better riders to replace them with , Bobryshev needs to step up at Honda, but i think he brings money, so that helps, Desalle is settled on the Suzuki, Stribos is still looking good, even though he is on his second go round too.
Ice One have Nathan Watson who is still very young , he could be an MX2 rider for 3 or 4 years , based on his improvement since he got the full time gig, he could be worth a punt , but i would be staying where he is , having fitted in well there.
Does it open the door for a US rider to come,, i doubt it seeing as they cant fill the seats they have already, but its fair to say , from looking like a proper contender for the title in 2014 with Frossard and Paulin , they arent looking too good for 2016 .
Maybe Tanel Leok might get a call.
If Rattray is going to continue to struggle , injured or otherwise, if he has a 2 year deal at Kawasaki, some tough decisions are going to have to be made. He might turn it round, but i dont see him as anything other than an 8 to 10 guy even if he does.
Pit Row
I'm afraid David Philippaerts is going down the sunset strip at lightning speed.
not only his best days are over, but are over his so and so days too.
Italy's is in for disasters after Cairoli, Philippaerts and Guarneri call themselves off. Lupino is sadly a never-was, and there's nobody in sight to replace them all
I've never, EVER seen someone ride as wild as Philippaerts, rev limiting the shit out of his throttle everywhere in the track, rear tyre spinning like a windmill.
That kind of riding is pretty demanding, and he had some mayor injuries a few years ago: both whirst broken two years in a row is something that hits you right in the face and take all the "cockyness" that any champ should have out of you.
he's fast sometimes somewhere, but i'm afraid he doesn't have the stamina and "crazyness" to sunstain that kind of mad riding style anymore.
he'll fight for ten overall, and that's it.
DP is one of the main reasons I love watching GP's.
