GP of The Netherlands predictions

The circus has landed on European soil, so the GP's follow each other closer. Next weekend the GP of The Netherlands in Valkenswaard, with classes MXGP, MX2, EMX125, EMX250 and EMX300. Track will get rough, no doubt!

Predictions?

In MX2 obviously Herlings, he has never lost a race in Valkenswaard and I don't see anything changing about that.

Last years top five:
1. Herlings (1-1)
2. Febvre (3-3)
3. Tixier (2-5)
4. Guillod (4-7)
5. Tonus (12-2)

Ferrandis went 8-4 and Gajser 9-9.

In MXGP everyone expects a victory from Cairoli, who will become championshipleader also if he does so. Won't be that easy I guess, Nagl is pretty fast in the sand too, and I won't count out Desalle, Paulin, Van Horebeek and Villopoto if he's not too sore from last weekend.

I predict that Herlings will start the first moto on Sunday morning and cross the finish line sometime the day before.

*Yawn* in terms of a race but truly awesome if you like watching sand riders in their element.

All I can say is go rv... 71 points down. Time is now. Everyone is going to have some bad rounds. Long series far from over. Put last week behind.

I'm going to Valkenswaard this weekend and I can't wait for it.

In MX2 you just can't see anyone other than Herlings getting anywhere near the win.
I'll go for:
1. Herlings
2. Ferrandis
3. Anstie
4. Tixier
5. Gajser

The MXGP class is extremely difficult to predict. Cairoli has pretty much owned Valkenswaard since he moved into MX1, but he hasn't had it all his own way this year. He will be desperate to win at Valkenswaard, and I think he will.

Why do they call this particular round mx gp of europe and not gp of Netherland ?

Because there is two races in the Netherlands. It's sometimes called the GP of Flanders too, which is the region it is in

It's one thing having ridden sand before. But these guys ride this kind of sand all the time, you can be great in the sand and still be nowhere near. We'll see how he goes and if there are any repercussions from his crash yesterday

Track looks alot like southwick?? its not as deep like lommel. Anybody know how he did at southwick when he raced? Hopefuly he is ok and can race this wekend.

Flanders is a part of Belgium, not Holland RY4N37 Wink In 2000 there were 4 GP's in Belgium I believe, two in Flanders, two in Wallonia. We had a GP of Flanders, a GP of Wallonia, a GP of Belgium and a GP of Europe.

Like this year there are two GP's in Italy. Last weekend was the GP of Trentino, Maggiora is called the GP of Italy.

Valkenswaard is very close to Belgium though. I'm sure it was definitely called the GP of Flanders before.

Sorry bud, but that never happened, I've been to the GP in Valkenswaard since the early 90s. Detroit is next to Canada aswell, but it's not on Canadian ground now is it?

You're right I just looked back again and it's been called the GP of Benelux before. I was getting confused with the GP at Zolder, which used to be called Flanders. My bad

Haha no problem! It's a bit confusing for foreigners I have to admit, a couple of GP tracks in a radius of 50 miles. Have fun next weekend! I'll be there too, but the weather forecast doesn't look that great...

I'm sure we will have a great weekend. I went also last year and it was awesome. The weather for Sunday doesn't look so good but it's still early in the week so hopefully that can change. As long as it's not heavy rain it will be good

I see Romain & Glenn both putting in good rides but it shouldn't be surprising to anyone if they podium, anyone have any idea what is happening with Keeno, this should be his breakout race, too bad Strijbos is not there, he was a podium pick for sure. Jeremy could find his form there and spoil the whole party. Filip Bengtson could throw a wrench in the whole works also if he doesn't fade. Hard to call this one.

You think RV could land a podium ? I thought this was basically were all the top dogs of europe practice on daily bases? I thought Argentina & Italy would be the perfect fit for RV, but maybe these sand tracks will make him bounce back?

Sorry, can't call this one, I do think there will be new faces for this year on the podium in both classes. Can't see RV standing there though, but he could have a good run just not good enough. This is going to be a good one!
