Does fresh fall under organic? I'm not sure but I can vouch for the benefits of fresh food and how it makes you feel. I go to Asia a couple of times a year and stay for over a month each time. I'm not a person whose weight goes up and down but for the first time in my life I was able to gain 10 or 15 pounds because I was laid up with injury and not able to be as active as I usually am. The last time I went I ate so much food it was unbelievable. I ate 3 meals a day, usually to capacity, most times overeating, for a month and I lost 10 lbs. I ate nothing but fresh fish, chicken, duck, eggs, rice. I ate noodles at least once a day. Every breakfast I had fried rice, eggs, cucumber and bananas. My breakfast drink was either coffee or tea as a hot drink and juice as the other. The juices I enjoyed were cantaloupe juice, honeydew juice, watermelon juice, guava juice. Nearly every meal I would have a fresh fruit like dragon fruit, Rambutan, Guava, Papaya, Watermelon, Cantaloupe, Honeydew, Bananas. My snacks were things like peanuts, raisins, Krupuk and some pastries. Icecream is hard to come by but often had frozen yogurt. I can honestly say, just eating fresh and natural foods leave me feeling really good. I can definitely tell a difference after I return to the states for about a month.

I think as far as taste goes, the organic label probably contributes more to the taste than the actual farming practices.

I'm definitely in favor of looking for ways to reduce antibiotic use and lowering pesticide residues on fruits and vegetables, though. Even if the current evidence doesn't show a large statistical difference between the health effects of organic and conventional food, it simply makes sense to not completely wait until technology evolves to show us more dangers.

Great info guys!, May be the placebo effect or the fact that I haven't consumed any Soda or Redbulls for going on 3 days but my energy is way up, I've been going to sleep at the same time and getting up at the same time to kinda keep control on the data and how I feel. Normally by 3 i was literally ready for a nap. Sitting in front of a computer doing graphic kits all day isn't exactly exciting lol.

Pretty sure Penn &Teller did a bit on the whole "organic" craze

basically its just a way to get you to pay more for something that cost them less to make. There are virtually no health benefits other than psychological

I tend to agree. I worked at a health & nutrition center for a number of years. The produce manager was constantly sick, hacking and coughing like he just finished off a pack of Pall Mall reds. Couple of the vegan chicks were so sickly looking, never any energy to spare, and they were young.

Not to mention , those chicks, and some of the guys avoided most basic hygiene products, preferring the au naturale approach. Couple that with their garlic craze, and that made for some stinky ass people in that place.

That lasts about 2 weeks. After drinking Coke from birth and every meal all my life maybe 6 cans a day, I quit drinking it 3 years ago this Easter. No soda what so ever. Honestly the only thing I've had in the last 3 years has been water, I drink about a gallon a day, milk which I mostly get from cereal but I do drink chocolate milk sometimes to recover from jogging, coffee, maybe 1 cup ever 2 months or when I travel, Ice tea, I will go on a bing and make a pitcher and take a week to drink it. I'll make a pitcher about once a month, hot tea because I like Ginger tea, a few beers over the course of the year juice when I travel like I mentiioned in my other post and peach moonshine. It is hard drinking nothing but water for no other reason but ordering at a restaurant or drive through. Such a pain in the ass getting extra value meals and stuff like that. II generally have a case of bottled sitting behind my seat when I drive.
After a week or 2 you will have a craving for a Snickers bar like you have never had before in your life.

Morning observation, I had 3 gluten free, wheat free multi grain waffles "organic" with organic strawberries and bananas. Drenched in organic maple syrup. Waffles had a different tastes, never had gluten free so don't know if gluten free just taste different in general or not. Maybe some of you that eat gluten free can fill me in on that. Organic Maple Syrup taste like it was right from the tree, mild sweetness and an earthy taste compared to the processed syrups.

Love organic maple syrup! Once you get used to it, try pouring a big helping of the fake stuff on your hot cakes and you'll thing you're drinking sugar...and basically...you are.

Yes sir definitely lighter taste.

Does anyone here have a garden they grow fresh veggies in? I want to start one but growing up in the burbs my folks never had any gardens and I've never put to much thought into it. Don't really know were to start and I know our soil out here isn't ideal.
