Had a bit of a digger last weekend, realized that my front end is out of alignment. What's the process for methodically straightening this out? Just undo everything and true 'er up?

Usually I loosen the triple clamp pincher bolts that hold the forks and then make sure everything is straight and re tighten then do the bars and the axle.

Loosen up your handle bar and also the clamps where they bolt to the triple tree if that has the rubber mounts on it, they get deformed easily and should be reset.

Loosening you bars & triples will have no effect on the front wheel. Loosen up the axle pinch bolts and axle nut. Bounce forjs a few times, check alignment and if straight snug it all back down. Or if out riding find a tree and smack the wheel against it a few times to straighten. Then ride....,

I loosen all the bolts and spin the front tire and slam the brake on a few times seems to get it very close.

if it didnt work then most likely you triple clamps are wayyyyyyyy to tight. get torque wrench they only call for like 18lbs or something.

from what i understand over tightening the triples can, 1 stretch out the clamp and eventually wont clamp any more. 2 distort the fork tube and not allow the internals to operate smoothly like they should.

1. Loosen the top stem nut, triple clamp pinch bolts, axle pinch bolts and axle nut.

2. Realign front wheel.

3. Tighten stem nut first, then triple clamps.

4. Use the big Allen wrench to spin the axle while holding the axle nut still, this helps keep the fork from binding. Once it snugs up, go ahead and tighten the axle nut.

5. Tighten clutch side axle pinch bolts.

6. Spin front wheel and slam the brake several times.

7. Tighten throttle side axle pinch bolts.

8-10. Drink beer the job is done
