Void, I really like white city its a fun place to ride and has some excellent terrain. I have raced HS there a couple times in the past but the water you guys had this year was nuts.

on the 08 which I raced HS with I did use the 3gal tank and could make a little over 2 hours before needing gas. once i started using the auto clutch it was much better on fuel.

After the last scramble I ran, Im thinking of looking in to a auto clutch myself.

Is it hard to get used to using those?

the rekluse pro I use is pretty cool. you can use it just like a normal clutch, but if you forget or just get lazy, well it stays runnnig.

now don't kill it. since it will not bump start. and don't lose your kickstarter since they you would SOL.

but I do likeit for woods racing/riding haven't motoed it much but i bet it would be fine. no engine braking but that in moto isn't all that bad.

I second that where I live moto is just sitting around and waiting for 4 laps per moto. Harescrambles are just more time doing what I enjoy-riding a bike. Plus I have seen some crazy things out there.

i ride one HS a year and that is the Riverfront GP in Fort Smith, Arkansas on Thanksgiving weekend. Riverfront is the final round of the Arkansas Hare Scramble Series. it's in the city limits of Fort Smith on the banks of the Arkansas river. about two miles off Interstate 40. plenty of sand whoops for motoheads and the trail is pretty wide. i never use barkbusters there and rode it a couple of years on a KX500 that i shifted into 5th gear a few times. the ATVs run on Saturday and beat a lot of the trail out, but there is a good bit of new trail that they don't run. a good purse for the AA riders and lots of goodies at the rider's meeting. i challenge that "huck" guy to come over and see if he can keep up with the old man at Riverfront. or will the little woman keep you at home for turkey weekend? dbm

Seen that you are in ohio. These GP's in d11, especially the one at fast traxx, is what ruined me on waiting on 4 lap motos. The last one of the year is at fast traxx this sunday. Not sure where you are, but I was looking at NE ohio stuff earlier this year. TV Land, Western Reserve and a track near erie all had GP's in the last few months. These things are way less "culture shock" for an mx guy than a HS or Gncc.

I'd love to find some of these in TN, NC, VA or SC during the winter months.

Transient, which harescrambles do you run? I pretty much run the CRA series. Bunch of different tracks, and 43 events this year. I've done 10 so far. That and a 4 hr team race at Western Reserve.

We used to race Scrambles on Saturdays and 8 motos on Sunday. This is when A ran 30 Mins plus 2 and B and C classes ran 20 mins + 2.


At the time, I raced 2 80 cc classes, 100 cc or 125 B, and 250 B.


Thinking of all that, there is no way I'd ever be able to afford to buy that many bikes for my kid.


I had practice bikes too for all classes. And we weren't no where near baller compared to others. Moto is pricing itself into oblivion IMO.


Sorry I quit instead of pursuing GNCC type stuff. I had one track that ran through a river, 2 creeks, through 1500 acres of woods with damn near zero sun under the canopy of leaves, and various off road trails.


We rode from school out till into the dark, every day. We'd go riding after we got home from the races!

My son (9) raced a hare scramble earlier this year. It was really his first time riding in the woods at all. He loved it except for all of the falling down he did. Not really sure why we haven't done another one yet. I'll have to ask him if he wants to do another.

I really like how much seat time they get as compared to a day at an mx race. My only problem is getting him seat time in the woods. I don't have a bike and I can't send him out by himself. At least I can see him on the mx track.

I live in Paris. I dont remeber Paris ever having a mx,sx, or harescramble event. Now Terre Haute used to have two different mx tracks,, not sure if either one of them hosted Harescrambles, Wardy would know. Wardy did Paris ever have any events, I dont remember our county fair having an event.

Paris used to have races in the early 80's. All the hotshots were there from the FBI, Indiana etc
