Am I going to be the first one that points out he had 1 win last year, thats it.

Bubba had 5 and RV had 7. Those 2 are gone, and that is why RD seems like he is so much better.
Bubba has crashed his brains out sooo hard, sooo many times that he can't keep up without his meds.

RV couldn't handle another year of Aldon to keep up so he burnt out and left.

Not knocking either one of those guys because on any given day they could beat the #5, but Dungey just keeps on keeping on. What about that JLaw dude who used to give Dungey fits? Is he flipping burgers yet or still mooching off his grandparents?

I remember some Stanton guy who nailed down a bunch of championships without winning a whole lot of races. He was always up front though.

You make it seem like RV didn't beat RD for 4 championships in a row.

"On any given day they could beat the #5" more like on most days, 1 win compared to 5 and 7

Number one is confidence....the new bike and how it fits him and Aldon is why. Who knows if RV would be there, the fact is he's not so we need to move on.
Stewart hasn't really been in championship contention for many years so he more than likely wouldn't have been a factor this year either....he's not there so we need to move on.
Kenny got hurt with a few poor decisions, Oakland and ATL, but I believe the poorest decision he made was last year when he left KTM and closely followed with the decision to leave Aldon.
Dungey is a beast this year and it's because he has all the pieces he needs in place.
Bingo!!!!!

If you cant see the difference in rd this year, rv present or not, youre either a hack, stupid, or a stupid hack. Hes clearly faster everywhere. He is most definitely faster thru the whoops. His starts are better, and hes passing more aggressively without the stupid moves that get ya injured. We always commented that rv turned the trottle that extra 1%, and kept on it that extra 1% compared to dungey and it brought more titles and more injuries. I think aldon, the bike, a happy family life, has all contributed to him gaining that extra 1% back imho. I would Love to watch him and rv go head to head now. Who knows what would happen but i right now i think dungey is more focused and running smoother

I'd say first it's the bike. I think the previous generation KTM was holding Dungey back to his full potential. On the new bike, it goes through the whoops as well as anyone else's model, it corners as well as a Suzuki, Ryan seems to be able to put the bike anywhere he wants at will, and I don't know if they have any sort of launch control, but he is consistently at, or very near the front on his starts.
Secondly, I think Aldon has help his mental game in on track race craft. Yes, I agree, it took him a while to pass Short at Daytona. There may be two pieces to that puzzle. 1. Short is a fellow KTM rider, and they were doing fine in front of the pack. No need to push too hard and take out a fellow KTM rider. 2. There wasn't the dire need to pass Short in the early laps. Once Seely came in on Dungey, how long did it take him to get past Short. He almost moved past at will once the need got there. At any case, Aldon does seem to have Dungey making passes quicker than in years past. He has moved past more than one rider on any given lap in the earlier SX races this year.
I believe he has the whole package right now. The entire KTM team has the Mojo going like Kawi had when that 2012 bike showed up for RV. RV went on a tear from that year on. I would have loved to have seen how things would have panned out the last few years if RD had this bike then.
Well, enough rambling, time to get back to work.

Bubba had 5 and RV had 7. Those 2 are gone, and that is why RD seems like he is so much better.

Outdoors in 11 I believe, RV was struggling with the frame and the 12 came out mid year and it allowed him to pull away from RD in the points, pretty major.
Yep!!!...and lets not forget who else is doing ALOT better this year...and is a beast off the starts. Andrew Short!!!! The bike is a big factor.

I got that from when you said "On any given day they could beat #5"

Seemed like on most days they both had RD covered. RD 1 win 2014 SX, JS 5 Wins 2014 SX, RV 7 Wins 2014 SX

RV Beat RD 4 times in a row for a championship. And if he was there this year, he would beat him again.

That's like saying you flipped a coin and it landed on heads 50 times in a row, so it must land on heads again. Your speculation is far from a fact man.

What speculation? The one where I said Dungey had 1 SX win last year?

Oh, you are talking about how I said that RV would beat Dungey this year, just like he has for 4 years straight. It's easy to say Dungey would be giving them a run and all that when they aren't there. The facts are though, and the facts will show that RV would be the favourite for the championship.

Right. Exactly. Best case he would maybe be in top five behind RV, bubba, RC, and MC. Not to mention if Jlaw were still racing. RD5 would likely not crack the top 5 all season if those 5 guys were there.

It's also easy to SPECULATE that RV would win it again, there is just now way of knowing...because it is not going to happen.

Jimmie Johnson won how many clone car titles in a row, does that mean he is going to win again this year?

Short has been getting good starts but he is further behind in Championship points than he was last year at this point.

We will never know, favorite or not he's not here...and that is a fact...Now for JS, he's always a threat for a win but his last championship was 6yrs ago and has never beaten Dungy in a championship, that a fact...JS is not racing because of mistakes he made...and that is a fact.

RD seems to be a lot more at ease on the podium interviews too, more relaxed and confident.

If RV was racing, he would have Aldon and Dungey would not.. 5 in a row, most likely

How do you know that? Seems to me KTM enlisted Aldons help, not Dungey.

I'm Ass-u-ming that because RV was out. Doubt Aldon would have been available otherwise

The fact is, those of you who know who would have won this year, or any other year, can send me the winning numbers to next weeks Powerball. Thanks, in advance.

its simple. Aldon Baker is the last piece of the puzzle that Dunge needed. Think how competitive dunge was all these years racing against all these greats that had Aldon. now. well you get my point..

The bike is the number one reason

He was swapping the back end around horribly in some of the SX races on the old bike.
