I normally stay out of the US vs GP or in this case, RV vs the GPs... but I did find this comment from Lupino that had me scratching my head a tad bit.

Alessandro Lupino: Thailand GP...now back home and I can work harder on my shoulder.but I'm pissed off, you make the track to let him win but please don't put at risk our security. Adesso si torna a casa per lavorare sulla spalla. Ma sono arrabbiato con colui che ha fatto una pista così per far vincere qualcuno e si è visto quante brutte cadute e infortuni ci sono stati!foto di @enzotempestini

The tender GP riders frown upon jumping... I hear that this jumping is an "American" thing.

He should be more specific, Cairoli won on the same track too.

Was Lupino thinking if the jumps weren't there he was a threat?

I must have missed all those wins he has.

Obviously you have not watched GP's the last 5 years, They jump every bit as much as the USA.

No idea what this kids issue was, the track sucked for everyone.

He was implying that he is always a threat when the race is on a flat corn field and the temperature is moderate.....Actually, he was probably dehydrated because he didn't make a lick of sense.

I think he was suggesting that they made a track to suit Villopoto and he was pissed off because it was dangerous. Not because he thought he could win if the track was different

Seems even the Champ didn't like the jumping...

Antonio Cairoli: “I made some mistakes over the weekend, especially in the qualifying. Then in the race you need to have a good start to be in front and you need to be on the inside on the corner and that was very important. I was a bit too wide with my seventh place then I got pushed to the outside. I had to regroup and settle my speed but after I went outside the track I was back at about seventeenth and I tried to charge to be in front again. It was not bad to end up fifth but not what I expected from my race. Then I was able to get a good start in my second race to be out in front and to make a good rhythm on a track that was very dangerous. I like jumps but this was way too much and also some were very sketchy. It was very hot and you are not completely focuses so it’s very easy to make a mistake.”

I try to be not biased, but i think its really sad that they think the jumps are a problem. I prefer more old school not too many jumps myself but i do like our tracks either way. But i think its insane that they seriously have a problem with them? Arenacross kinda looks insane jump turn, jump turn whoops, jump turn. But i didn't feel this one was that bad in that regard at all.

I didn't see any sketchy jumps, nor did I see where the track was dangerous. Can somebody clue me in?

EDIT: Also, I may have an American view, but the track didn't seem too jumpy to me. Sure, there was a long rhythm section that looked like it was transplanted directly from the MMP track and there was the long, rolling whoop section as well, but other than that, it was mainly just tabletops.

yeah they didn't really look sketchy but I've ridden enough tracks with that sort of dirt to know it gets super slippery then breaks down in chunks so it leaves shelves and it can be fine one lap then next lap you've got this big sharp hard kicker in exactly the worst spot and it's fucken scary!
and yes I think that is your American view haha but I'm thinking it was mainly that big triple onto table then off that they weren't into if ya haven't really seen that sort of stuff or aren't comfortable on it plus the heat it wouldn't have been very nice for them

Well based on mxillustrated's bias, and I assume Luongo's as well, they want RV to lose so they can say that they have the more dominant riders over there. . . So wouldn't it be counter productive to build the tracks to favor RV.

I'm assuming he's talking about RV in his posting.

Bah, no respect lost save for Lupino due to him not making any sense as the 6 time GP champ one on that same track.

A professional motocross rider is complaining about a track being dangerous? This guy is in the wrong sport. Knitting or quilting might be where he can find his niche.

The jumps on that track looked sketchy.... About the same level of sketch as I and a million other spodes have ridden on on any weekend at Lake Elsinore, Pala, Perris or the defunct Comp Park. Lupino's a wuss.

When they are here for the USGP, are there less jumps? This year it is at Glen Helen right?

problem is their sighting lap is "our" race pace, big difference in speed makes a bigger difference in the sketchyness

but i like that you compare yourself with those guysLaughing

No joke.

Elsinore (before they switched up the national track) after a water break was a fucking death trap, it was like riding on watered marble. Always loved the layout though.

Stay classy, GPs. The announcing, the TV package, the compensation package, the competitors comments, all of it really top notch. They're going to be throwing shit at the guy come Italy.

Based upon two threads today.....

If the track is dangerous because its too hot the overwhelming opinion here is that its perfectly fine to shorten the motos to protect riders health.

But.

If the track is dangerous because of sketchy jumps and poor design then the riders are just whiny pussies with sand in their vaginas.

Is there any grass left in this world? Not the smokie tokie type....I mean the 2' tall grass where they can stake it off and let the first bikes mow it down and turn it into brown loam. This is what I miss most about modern MX....the grass and deep dark loam. These new tracks look like shit
