ryan is not far off now 7th after hitting the gate and then getting taken down by the jose buttron then having rear brake problems in the second one.
I'm one euro fan that thinks it won't be long till he's at the front fighting for a win and i fully expect him to win the gp in england as he has ridden it before and must have some good base settings to start that weekend although they may not transfer to the big bike.

Lets be objective, RV was hurt, He wanted to retire, rumors say contracts were not going to let that happen, RV shows up and obviously was not ready for what ever reason.

Couple more weeks of this shit and I see a bad case of Epstein Bar coming to the rescue.
Honestly, I kind of thought he would finish somewhere near top 5 (not in the top 3, but not worse than about 8th) in the first round. The reason being, he hasn't raced outdoors in 18 months, and hasn't really raced in almost a year. He doesn't have Aldon for a trainer and the tracks / race programs are totally different than here in the states plus it's a completely different support team. That's a LOT of change for one rider alone to simply overcome in a super competitive elite level racing series. It's all overcome able though. And this will be a very competitive series, which HELPS RV (not hurts him). This keeps another top rider from running away with the title while he figures things out.

My realistic expectation for RV is top finish top 3 in the series this year and win some races - but far from dominate. I then expect him to run away with it next year after he gets a full season of experience under his belt with the team, schedules, training regime, etc. It's a big change and to expect him to do it from the get go was highly unrealistic.

I think RV needed a change of scenery and a shot in the arm of something new. He's getting to travel the world on someone else's dime and he's getting experience less than 0.1% of people ever get in their careers. I hope he sits back and smells the roses a little too. Because he's getting to see the see the world, live a very comfy life, and do it all for riding a dirt scooter for a career. What's not to love about that? He's very fortunate.
