Obviously it's the tracks fault, Ryan is only performing when the track is allowing him. Stupid track! Dry

8th is not bad at all.
Only RV and his team know if he was absolutely ballin or just trying to be steady.
That makes a pretty big difference.

8th is a good gate pick....RV races for championships.

It was only last week that people on here were betting on RV to win by more than 30 seconds, now it's the tracks fault and he hasn't raced in blah blah blah. Why don't you just accept that maybe Cairoli and a lot of the GP guys are not as slow as you think. The "Euro" riders are quicker than you give credit. Although Roczen speaks with a stupid accent he is in fact GERMAN which believe it or not is in EUROPE. So Guys, lighten up, enjoy the racing and let messiah villopoto find his feet. He may need a few races before he laps the whole field with one arm behind his back

Kawasaki Team manager Steve Gutteridge said on the MXGP studio show that RV was surprised how fast everyone was so early in the weekend... he is the only one.. maybe if he had ridden with them before now , it wouldnt be a surprise.

There is no excuse, it's a fucking quali FFS, we all know Qatar is a joke track, but they all have to race it.

Things won't be easier tomorrow though.

Thanks, I just wish everyone would lighten up a touch. The racing IS going to be great. RV2 IS very fast, Cairoli IS very fast the track at qatar is shit but it's the same for everyone. Let's just watch some great racing and not heap too much expectation on to one person.

There's a pic of him in his pits, he looks pretty serious to me, like he just had a damn good fight that he didn't win and didn't know why.

Points pay tomorrow anyway guys, I'll see you all back here and hopefully everybody has got it off their chest and we can appreciate whoever wins

I love the psychology play there....he went on later to say that RV feels "he has no chance of a podium this weekend against these crazy fast Euros"

I am going to add that anyone who thinks RV is going to smoke the whole field week in week out are very much delusional. And also that anyone thinks he is not going to win any are also delusional. He is a great champion as is AC. It is going to be great racing whoever wins at the end of the year

You have got to remember that qualifying races are much different than qualifying practice, based on lap times.

In a qualifying practice session everyone rides at different paces, putting in fast laps whenever. So, you can't judge speed well... Might as well just go rip it.

In a qualifying race you can pace yourself to see where others stack up.

I think RV is smart and was probably just not pushing it, and was sizing everyone up.

That being said, I predict 4-2 Moto finishes.

Spagina go back and read what was happening, he wasn't sizing anybody up, he got it handed to him by 30% of the field.

It's just a quali that doesn't mean a great deal but come on man, don't think for a minute he allows people to pass and pull away by half a minute because he is pacing them.

Hand some damn credit where it's due.

Oh, and by the way in GP terms, a quali race is still a race. It's not a quali lap like other forms of racing

Was RV riding on the same track as everyone else? The GP riders dislike the track mainly because it's a AMA SX type setup which RV should have totally shredded, if this is the quality of riding he's taking to the real GP tracks in Europe it's going to be a like watching Covington struggling in the Big Boy's class. The MX1 class has it's highest level of competition this year without the RV hype overshadowing the quality of the GP riders. Let's hope RV can rise to the occasion as it would be painful watching this performance as long as his season last. Rattray yawn.....

30% of the field? How many riders were there, I thought there were 40?
