Well, after chasing some problems with this bike I decided to do a full frame up rebuild, going to powder coat the frame and swingarm black and do blue accents on the hoses and graphics and such....full engine/suspension rebuild and hopefully I have the $$ left for some bling at the end. Thought I would take you guys on the journey with me...wish me luck...

Quick question, when taking it to the powdercoater, should I plug/cover anything so it doesn't get coated too?

If it's any powder coater with half a brain cell they should know to do that themselves. That said, tape over the VIN and make sure that any holes you don't want filled are spelled out in detail to them. What color are you going with? Black?

Yes, black frame/swingarm...thanks, I'll make sure I spell it out. I found a place here in Fort Worth that does bikes regularly so it should be good to go...

That's a great looking bike. Love the blue accents. The black is definitely the right choice. I may do the updated plastics as well. Sweet bike!!

Quick update. Powder coated. Rebuilt bottom up. Tires, cables, clutch, suspension rebuilt, waiting on levers, plastics, graphics and little bling stuff. Slowly coming together. Any suggestions for the best pipe for this bike? Looking at a factory FMF. I can't find a Factory PC and I don't want a nickel plated pipe. Thanks. Ready to ride...!

The 125 looks Bad Azzzz if the 250 comes out that great youll have a great setSmile makes me want my 94 back.LOL

You could have stopped tweaking the looks of your KX after installing that pipe. I like your bike a lot
What class do you ride it in?

Goimg with the black swingarms and frames on these bikes are a good choice

Going with the factory FMF fatty I think. Right now I'm just going to run the nickel FMF I have. Money's a little short right now. Thanks guys. I've put a lot of love into this build. Few more shots...headed out to start on her ...with the ice that's coming I should have time to finish this week. I love rebuilding these older bikes. So much fun

I run the 9oz weight. Smooths it out just a little bit. I like a little hit...just not too much. Works great for the track or trails.

check rockymountainatvmc.com the Tusk brand stuff usually has them in colors.

I checked...2005 is as far back as they go...I wonder if the bend is the same.....? Ok I checked all the pedals are the same.....2003-2007. Thanks. Should've looked. LOL.

It's actually my daughters bike, she rides women's & 250c. Thanks for the compliments. I have another one with an Eric Gorr 144 kit & an 07 kx250 that I ride in the vet A classes around here.

I use the hammerhead brake pedal on all my bikes, 2 - 05 125's & an 07 250. Order the one for the 4 stroke with the pro return spring. It fits with only very minor "adjustments" to clear the clutch cover.
