Who was the lady asking questions during the Trey Canard interview?
Not sure of her name, but she works for cycle news.

Problem with calling anyone in this sport is the backlash from the rider/team/entourage. Personally I think Mathis is one of the best as far as putting things that most wouldn't out there. That said Pulp and Vital are 2 different beasts in which I thoroughly enjoy both of them!

Interviews you actually read FTW. Especially when you're bored at work. Video interviews usually come off awkward anyway.

The 1-2-3 interviews that GuyB does with the podium guys posted on the home page, and then the Pulp Pro Circuit after race pods are the best... Inflection means a lot in an interview, especially considering the reading level of many here!
I'm laughing to myself at who likes to read the interviews.. might have something to do with the problems they have with certain riders haha

I enjoy all the audio interviews! Especially the ones from vital! GuyB does a great job doing them and the audio gets you to understand what mood or what they were thinking when you hear them. Great job GuyB and Vital!

I prefer the Vital Photo/Audio style. I'd much rather look at photos whilst hearing the interview than look at some guys sweaty face.

Thanks.

I think more often these days, riders prefer doing post-race interviews in a group setting, rather than a bunch of one-on-ones. That's why you get some interviews that sound the same. It's because they are.

Personally I like the audio versions, because I think you get more hearing it than you do if you're just reading text and having to figure out the inflection. (Is he joking? Serious?)

As for the group setting interviews, we currently have one agent who likes to call people in by announcing, "Gather around for the circle jerk." He did it again on Saturday night. I asked, "Seriously?" When he laughed and nodded, I turned around and walked away...as he tried to grab my photo vest to pull me back.

I'm far from being a sensitive type, but I respect his rider in how I portray him. I think it's fair that he respects what we're doing, too.
I don't know how much crossover there is between you guys and VitalMTB, but their Slideshows of the MTB World Cups kind of revolutionised MTB race coverage for a lot of people.

I think people have a lot of time for fun, light hearted audio interviews - they obviously have the advtange of being able to post video intertwined, but I think Audio slideshows are the best from my point of view.

Yeah, it's fun when we can drop in some video in the middle of a slide show. We'll have to work on that more. Smile

I like to read them because I can't exactly listen to them at work, and when I get home I have better things to do than stare at a computer. Though, I have thrown my headphones on to listen to a few.

Hah... I love the irony. I'm sure when someone says shitty things, the inflections make it ok.

"I think you're a dumbass, Crush." Regardless of whatever inflection I might use, it's still a shitty thing to say. And for the record, I don't think you're a dumbass.
