I've never been black flaged but I as a race official have had the displeasure of black flagging a racer in a pro/am only once four doubling on a wheels down. Dude got pissy cut the track and rode over to me as the race is still going on reving up his bike and yelling who knows what while I'm still standing on takeoff face flagging as the medical staff addtends to the downed rider. I thought for a minute I was going to have to take his ass down in front of everyone and phisically walk his ass back to the pits but luckily for him he rode off back to the pits and saved himself the embarrasment. He later appologised to me so it is all good. People can get a little crazy in the heat of the moment. Just ask reed. And yes I would have done the same as Gallagher. I love me some Chad Reed but what he did was malicious. I'm sure in a week or two after he a calms down even Chad himself will admit he had bit of a a brainfart.

As far as open practice goes I have black flaged riders for all kinds of crazy shit. Banned riders. Escorted them from the Premisis. You name it.

PROTESTED--Getting back into racing after 3 year's away I was Protested in the 35+ class cause the guy saw me win the 25+ class before I whipped him in the 35+ and he said there was no way I could be 35.I was 37 [ i have always looked about 5 years younger] and the race promoter knew I was old enough but not exact sure of age so I was carded,I just laughed and beat the guy at all 15 races we had to do.He was just mad cause he raced the first few races that I didn't and thought he had series in bag.

DQ'd-- the very next year in the same series. I was winning most of the 30+ and 35+ races and a guy that was in both classes, that I beat and never even saw in the first 30+ was staying close in the first 35+ moto and then in every corner he started to run his front tire into my leg and I thought whats he doing then he about lost control in the whoops almost taking us both out [ he was riding way over his head] then while taking next corner he tries t-boning me even though he would have had inside line cause his whoops f-up put me off track and back on just in time to take outside rut,by now I am steaming so i pin it and pull away for the last half lap and take the checkers 5 seconds ahead of him. We are at a fair supercross race so the stands are full but i turn to go off track and get next to bleachers and drop my bike right there and he pulls up and i YANKED him off his bike and threw him on ground,I started yelling at him and gonna kick his ass when my buddy and track worker intervene. He was lucky!!,but promoter saw everything but said I had to leave it on track and DQ'd only that moto.

The guy stayed away from me after that. I did feel bad cause thats the first time I did something like that in 20 years of racing and didnt want any kids to see that and glad it was out of view of most of the spectators.
Point of story-just like reed,we can all lose our cool!!!

LOL, that's great!!! Same thing happened to me in my first and last BMX race. Got a bad start and rammed my way up to 3rd, then caught the guy in 2nd and punted him over a berm, didn't quite get to the 1st place guy with only one lap. Went to pick up my trophy and was told not to come back. They did give me a trophy though. My BMX racer friend had to explain to me that it was BMX not MX and you can't punt people over berms or take them all out in the first tun.

First year racing in 1996, I was riding I the 80 senior class at Dennark (D16). There were so many entries they had two heats with the top 20 advancing. I rode the best race of my life and finished 6th. I was disqualified because my kx was a big wheel and some parent was whining, I assume his kid didn't make the cut. I wasn't even aware of big wheel bikes back then. Needless to say I had a new YZ that week.
