i have a feeling the "tens" (honad) will be much unchanged, they've been redesigning this model since mid -'06. small refinements to suspension, possibly efi ignition curve, and BNG. the magic button will be coming soon too but as far as the engine, chassie...those will stay put for a while. i think EFI refinements will be like their "BNG", will be an every year type thing.

all my dealers have at least one '09 crf450. they arnt priced great, but not bad. a true OTD price is around msrp, about 7600.

This wouldn't be good.

Mine's at the dealer and I can't go get it until I sell my '05. Plus, I'm out for 6 weeks anyway. They said they'd just stick it back in the warehouse until I'm ready.

I'm thinking I'm going to get out of there around $7000 but that's still to be seen.

I got mine out the door for right at 8k. I didn't get a stellar deal but I got the first '09 my usual dealer recieved and picked it up the day they got it built.

Besides the low idle flame out I personally haven't heard or seen anything crazy happening or failing. There are at least 2 or 3 '09s at my local tracks every weekend and I've only seen crashes stop them. I've put two hard weekends on mine with multiple riders and not even the slightest problem. I'm not so Honda loyal I'd say the brand is above production mistakes. My '04 250F cratered a piston that the factory paid to replace because of a defect. But so far so good with this, besides that god damn white fender. Everytime I pick it up off the stand after washing it my fingers leave black smudges.

A guy had a fresh one at a race on saturday and his auto-decopression wasn't working, he had to use his whole weight just to budge the kickstarter. that and he was complaining of it stalling easily.

I'll be waiting until '010 for my '09.

Call Performance Motorsports in San Juan Capistrano and ask for Bill. I've bought a few bikes from him and Worm bought his 09' from Bill. Bill usually offers a great price and excellent customer service.

second that Performance Motorsports got a good deal at the time on the second bike to leave the showroom. They were great and very easy to deal with.

The flame out is easily fixed with raising the idle. I had that problem a few times until i was told about raising the idle, which is very easy to do.

I have about 10 hours on my bike, with multiple riders and no one has complained about a thing. One fast kid was bummed he had to go back to riding his old bike. =)

i went to thumpertalk and read up on the auto decompression deal. i hate to say it but it sounds like a problem. multiple people from different states\areas around the US are having the same thing happen. they are having to replace the entire cam (or so i read). its not a recall, so they are just replacing it with the same OEM cam i believe...how long will that last? definetly puts a damper on my 09 plans...i want to read more about this and find out what the deal is.

Dan, you need revs I got 'em. I picked up a rm 250 2 stroke left over to hold me over until I decide what to do next year, I'll be at Blue Diamond friday. Come on down and get your fix.
