Okay, we'll admit, we did put up an Instagram pic saying, "Let James Ride."

But...petitions? No.

#boycottsupercross? Oh Hell no.

What he really deserves is a speedy and fair appeal hearing ahead of the impending Supercross season. If they decide in his favor? Great! If not? He gets a long vacation, and learns a rather painful lesson about how serious they are when it comes to drug testing paperwork and enforcement.

Who in the field is going to be capable of this. The excitement this rider brings is insane

I don't save any races on my pc because it's just too much data but this full race I definitely saved. Absolutely an unbelievable race

How is it the biggest name in this sport, both inside and outside, and his people / handlers didn't understand the process? People are saying this is ridiculous because it's based on a technicality and it's really okay because he takes the meds regularly. You mean to tell me with all the people handling James business, following him around, waiting on his ever need, thought, word, feedback whatever, didn't think to, or know, or understand the rules well enough to file a TUE as the agency laid out for everyone to follow. With WADA and the other agency being involved in the sport and overseeing the testing, you don't think they were communicating clearly with the riders and/or their representatives what they need to do specifically when it comes to taking banned substances for therapeutic use reasons? With all that is riding on James shoulders you'd think this would have been at the top of the list to get in to the proper people in the proper channels, knowing what possible repercussions were.

Sitting idly by wont help anything. FIM needs to know the outcome and penalties are not resonating with anyone. Boycotting supercross is silly because those other guys are still out there racing and deserve all the attention they can get.

World Championships have rules , they broke them.

I have been on the wrong end of the rules , and no matter how many times you say 'but it wasnt an advantage', the rules are there to protect those that follow them , from those that dont.

I want to know when JS was diagnosed with ADHD , i know people with it , and i know that there isnt a chance in hell that he has raced from 5 or 6 , with this , and not one person knew ...

How many racers out there come out and say oh just so you know I have ADD or ADHD. Just so you all know because you need to know to make it right in your eyes. Theres plenty of riders with imperfections, should we lay them all out now? Cuz that will help.....Wink

It's not like any of this is new. The testing/penalties have been in place for a few years now. So has the required paperwork.

You are missing the bigger picture, which is larger than this incident. Supercross is an American sport and series. The nationals are an American series. We don't need a European organization telling Americans what they can or cannot do in America. If you don't understand that, no one can help you.

As far as I know, that was his first failed test. I'd also guess he was one of the guys that's been tested frequently over the years. I think your answer's in there somewhere. Smile

Allow me to reiterate: I believe they are sending a message, that doping won't be tolerated, especially by an aging superstar, who might be perceived as receiving special treatment, were they to go too light on him. Perhaps this is why the decision was delayed so long, as the people in power wondered how to best handle this. I would say that while it may seem to be a little excessive, they have made their ruling, and if they back up on it, then they are weak, and can be manipulated by popular opinion. Let's use the AMA Fuelgate fiasco as an example. Looking at all the angles I can think of, I'd say it's appropriate. I don't say this as a fanboy or hater, just looking at it impartially.

The opportunity was there for the Stewart camp, to make sure all their ducks were in a row, with time to spare. They failed to do so, and while it's somewhat sad, if this is indeed it for James, it falls on them. Their will be plenty of time for James to sit and ponder his unfortunate circumstances, but that's why you surround yourself with good people, to make sure things like this don't happen. The old saying is, "Ignorance of the law is no excuse".

Does the guy DESERVE a better end to a brilliant career, and as one the most talented guys to ever hit a MX/SX track? Sure he does, but it is what it is, for the reasons we are all aware of. I also think that disregarding the rules and cutting him huge slack, is a slap in the face to every guy out there, busting his balls as a Pro, and playing the game straight up. I feel the same way as Mama Canard does, and let's use Trey as an example. If ever there was a guy who might have benefitted from drugs to recover from massive injuries, and gain an edge, it would be him. My understanding is, so far, he has not tested positive for anything, other than Heart, Grit, and Determination.

I'd agree but the "penalty" took 8 months, so you think he'd get an assessment on his appeal in 2 weeks so he can possibly race A1? I highly doubt it.

No one wants to disregard the rules. Fuelgate was disregarding rules. Causing a rider to regain a championship and another rider to lose it. A penalty is what shouldve been dealt out. A loss of points and fine. A race suspension of a few races within the same year and series. Whatever. The horse has been dead. No ones opinions are gonna change but ill just stand by mine.

So if he's been tested frequently over the past few years and tested positive for this, why is it just now an issue? Or did someone finally drop the ball on his paperwork? It sucks to see one of the greats be forced to sit out in what was suppose to be his last year.

When you are at work, are you governed by the rules of the FAA, or are their International rules that apply as well? I'll assume you fly outside American airspace, and even if you don't, others do.

I'd assume that, until such time that the AMA is no longer affiliated with the FIM, then you must play by their rules. Now, before you go and say "Fuck the FIM, we are going our own way", that would also mean you surrender your right to play at the MXDN, and the right to host that event.

Discuss.

I'd suggest that either the prescription is relatively new, or he had paperwork in place before and didn't when he got tested in Seattle. That's the only thing that makes sense.

I'm not sure if he'll get a speedy and fair hearing. But I do think with a new season coming soon that he deserves one.

Im sure WADA wouldve recognized that if the need wasnt there before and it is now then it would be cheating or trying to gain advantage. But thats not the verdict they come up with so theres that.

That's just dumb, we constantly read on Vital how AMA Supercross and Motocross are the best series in the world. Now we read that its just an American national series and the FIM should not be telling American riders what to do. If the AMA chose to run under the FIM banner then they have to adhere to the FIM rules. If the FIM was based in the US would your thoughts be different.

Stewart said he'd only been prescribed Adderall since late 2012.

MX is a WORLD sport, a proper one that everybody does , as opposed to your made up sports , that only you play , so you can win..

World sports need world rules, manufacturers need a consistant market to make bikes for , and everyone needs to know what is and isnt allowed... it isnt fucking rocket science... is it ok for NFL players to be tripped off their tits on chrystal meth , just becuase you only play in the US ???

Stewart is sorry in the same way Lance Armstrong was, sorry he got caught.

Its a long shot and im sure there will be the usual Stewart knockers on here saying rules are rules and I agree there should be a punishment or a fine, but there has got to be a clear penalty and not just whatever they come up with. Its unfair and I think the majority of the moto industry knows it.

http://www.motoplayground.com/letjamesrace.html

you think the FIM and WADA pulled a punishment out of their asses?

really guy?

would you or anyone else be making this same push if it were RV? give an honest answer.

i agree the penalty sucks and may be a bit harsh, but i'm not the WADA (and they have a strict way of doing things)
