I've been running a 36mm Lectron for a little over a year in my Husky 165 and I love it. I primarily ride in the back country , so smooth power and fuel efficiency are key to me. I can get 80+ miles from my 3 gal tank, the power is seamless thanks to no overlapping circuits and it really is 'set it and forget it'. Me and a buddy rode around Stanley, ID last fall (from 6k to 10k') and I never touched the carb once.

My buddy sells these carbs and does a lot of testing for them, so I've had the opportunity to try a few different rods and can say there's lots of tuning potential by swapping rods. I'd guess you have the 3-1xl rod for your 250!?!?

Anyway, they've got a good product and glad to see it get some recognition!

Thanks buddy, diggin yours too!! Primary goal right now is to rebuild and revalve my susoension, but I might have to consider a Lectron after that. I have learned a ton about jetting since buying my 04, but I'd like to be able to just ride and not have to worry about running too lean and frying the exhaust bridge, or running too rich and fouling plugs.

Damn! That's amazing gas mileage for a dirt bike.

I plan on getting on of these for my '97 CR125 as well.

I don't want to seem like I'm flaming the post, I'm not. I just don't understand the advantage. I have a 07 CR250 so understanding would help me in case I can greatly benefit from a better carb in ways I don't see.

According to the instructions this carb still needs to be tuned the same way a stock carb needs to be tuned just with different parts. Why not just spend the time tuning the stock carb?

Hey man!

In my experience so far and from what I've read on their reviews from others on their facebook pages the Lectron carb (once using the proper metering rod, which is the only piece to really have to worry about changing) has a much wider spectrum of usage than that of a jet setting on a traditional carb. Now take this as MY OWN experience but with my PWK carb the jetting would be off whenever I swapped pipes or changed things within the engine (like porting). With the Lectron (I called Lectron when ordering and they sent me the right fitment from the get go) I literally swapped the carb in and the bike has not been adjusted since even thought modifications and performance changes have been made to my bike. It's a "set it and forget it" carb for me.

I like to keep pointing out that YES a stock carb (aside from the stock 02 TMX carb which seems impossible to jet for me haha) jetted properly will run great, but where the real advantage for me with the Lectron is that I can swap pipes out, make mods and ride dif elevations without ever having to worry about my carb running poorly.

That's my opinion and my take on your question, hope that helps paint my point of view for you!

After watching this I can see how adjustments can be less time consuming if you swap setups a lot over a conventional carb. Thanks for sharing this review with us. Very informative.

The pic of your dog and bike is great. One of the best on vital!

These carbs are getting more and more interesting.
