Share some stories! Post some pics! Bears!

About a month and a half ago we were trying to book a semi-last minute trip to Vegas for the Nellis AFB open house, but that didn't pan out. By some miracle we ended up with almost 70 degree weather and sunshine over on the Oregon coast, which is insane for November. The riding was oh so good, started my semi amateur FMX career. Good times!

No pics here but we were at Monster Mountain for the Top Kid / Vet Challenge weekend. I rode practice but didn't race. My son however raced Saturday and Sunday. Weather was perfect, track was perfect and racing was darn good. Going back to work today stunk for sure!

That's always the worst. Add in post-riding soreness, and it almost makes you wanna quit.

The dunes are a blast. Took my 250F to Glamis many years ago when I lived out in So Cal. Carving bowls is soooooo much fun!

After a few months off of the bike, I finally got to hang out with some buddies and ride. I was out of the loop and out of shape, but it was a blast. This corner gave me a lot of trouble, but this picture turned out pretty cool with all the dust.

I did...my bike broke at an endure a few weeks ago (overheated, etc. etc.) and I finally got it all put back together...and was excited to ride this weekend.

I take 10 minutes to load my bike...drive 30 minutes to the closest decent riding spot...spend 20 minutes unloading my bike and getting my gear on...2 minutes warming up my bike...hop on...ride for 5 minutes, and noticed I've got a coolant leak (the o ring where the radiator hose goes into the top of the head)...ride 5 minutes back to the trailer...spend 20 minutes loading my bike and getting my gear off...drive 30 minutes home...spend 10 minutes unloading my bike.

Drive 30 minutes to the dealership, buy a $4.00 o ring...drive 30 minutes home...spend 30 more minutes replacing the o ring. Forgot to buy coolant...crap...drive 15 minutes to the parts store...15 minutes back...

Afternoon completely wasted!

I raced the 25/30+ class at a small track near my house. I rode okay, but got beat pretty good. At least my bike ran great.

That sucks man, I think we've all been there with dumb little things that tarnish a whole day of riding.

One day I went to the track after learning about this thing called "detonation" on trusty Vitalmx. I drove 45 minutes to the track, paid 25 bucks, rode ONE warmup lap and swore my bike was pinging. Loaded up and went home. Thought it had to be a leak of some kind. Ended up taking it to the shop and it was completely fine, it was literally just in my head. So fuckin stupid. So at least your bike actually had a problem.

It is what it is...

I never got the bike warm enough in the garage to build up enough pressure in the cooling system to cause it to leak...but it looks like the heat from when it overheated cooked that rubber o ring (it was crispy)...

The thing that stinks even more is that there is a winter storm coming in and temps are dropping from the low 60's to the 40's and 30's the rest of this week....last weekend may very well have been the last decent riding weekend until spring.

20 miles in I smash my foot real bad (Special Test #2). I can tell it's serious. Blood in boot. I keep going (need points for WEST CHEC series). End up completing the race (85 miles). Manage to get my boot off. Foot looks mangled at first. Lots of blood, big toenail completely dislodged.

Drive 4 hours home (pops at the wheel). Go to the ER. Doc tells me I'm lucky not to have severed my big toe completely. Calls in podiatrist to do the repair. Ended up compounding big toe bone. It pushed up into the back of the toenail. Front part of the bone is broken into a bunch of little pieces. They sewed me up and sent me home around midnight. Follow up appointment tomorrow. Still a small chance I lose the tip of the big toe.

Had better days, I can tell you that much.

No pics since the wife didn't come with this time but I rode Exit 28 yesterday here in northern Nevada. Weather was perfect and they always do a great job on prepping the track. I wasn't feeling very "racy" after I had to panic rev to death the ole KX250 over the big table with the rebuilt big ass peaky lip I didn't pick up on my first 5 laps!

I just cruised and worked on trying to "flow" better through some of the turns, over all I had a great day and I'm sore as hell this afternoon!

I like to think so. It's what I imagine having a really cute kid is like. Everyone wants to come and checkit out at the track.

I took the 125 to Johnson Valley for the first Desert trip of the season. This is a selfie going down Claw Hammer.

No pics. Hit a practice day at Englishtown on Sat. I didn't think it'd be muddy but it was a mess. Had to ride in damage control mode instead of attack: wasn't feeling it. But it's pretty cold here so I tried to pound out laps thinking they might be my last before I trade my two stroke (YZ125) for my four stroke (snow blower).

I too, did some freestyle

On the ground freestyle is the future. Same with seat standing wheelies.

Did a dual sport ride. Canyon road to trail ride, back down to the canyon.
All the trees around these pic burned down a couple of years ago. And then we had major flood last year which closed this trail for a while. I was expecting some other catastrophe this year, but the locusts never showed up.
