Stoked for my boy, he won every rd of the Aussie pro open sx series and I think is the first rider to ever do it, and won the last final from the rear of the field to back up his 2014 title. Hope to get him to Bercy, etc and the first 6 AMA rounds. Would love to do a whole series but he must come back to defend his MX title in Aus. I think Gavin Faith got the lites overall with 3 round wins out of 5..

Great ride by Matt last night, on a track with mid 20 second lap times (Still a cool track for racing) to come from the back to win was a great ride.

well done Matt for the perfect season,

I thought Jackson Richardson would have had better results after his US results,

Also Jesse Dobson filled in well for the KTM team, 5th overall on a 450 and only 17, (he was racing juniors last year)

Matt did really well. I didn't think he would catch Monea, but he did and pretty easily aswell.
To be honest the track scared me. It was so tight and narrow, especially over the finish jump. But with the limited space they had, it was well done.

Does anyone how many people were there? To me it looked about three-quarters full so maybe 7-8000?
Hopefully theirs a chance the Qld round could be at the Qsac stadium next year? Just like 2009.

How is Jake doing? I know he's fast as heck to , but it seems the last couple years Matt has had him covered a little in speed. Always thought maybe some injuries were holding Jake back..Back in 08' and 09' I thought Jake was going to land a full factory ride here in the states and then something happened....I'm not sure what. Just always dug his bulldog riding style and he was fast as hell. Happy for both you and your boys Mate!!

He is still the fastest but he completly separated every tendon and ligament in his shoulder back in the German sx back 2010. they joined things back in the wrong places, so he has been basically riding one handed, lol. Just had another op last week and is holding his fingers crossed for Anahiem

Oh very cool! So Matt and Jake both are coming to A1? I didn't know about the shoulder injury , but that timing coincides with what I had seen. Good luck to you guys Mate!

Get him a gun case and take some suspenders he knows! He's riding better and more consistent than ever I think, would be great to see what he can do completely comfortable!

Looking forward to welcome Matt in Bercy (which is actually not happening in Paris, but in Lille -near the belgian border- this time) !
Bud Racing will take good care of him, brand new '15 RMZ from Suzuki France

I can tell you that next years supercross, or any supercross in the near future wont be at QSAC stadium !!! The promoters from the Super X era, Global Action Sports, never paid their bills and the branch of the Qld government that look after the big stadiums promised that they wont approve any application to host a Supercross. That is why the last two supercross rounds were held in Toowoomba. Going back indoors was great for the sport, and provided great racing. I expect to see the Sydney round next year to be at the Entertainment Centre also. Hopefully minus the Monster truck !!

Big congrats to Mossy, he rode awesome and it was great seeing him charge for the full race from the back. Have a strong dislike for Kyle Peters though. Dog move that wasn't on and to see Brenden Harrison with a busted leg from that wasn't cool !!

I was a little skeptical about going back indoors Swapper to be honest, but from the moment I arrive at Brissy Entertainment center on Saturday morning it had a good vibe about it.

By the time the crowd rolled in it was awesome. I chucked a quick instagram video up during the opening introductions and just to hear the crowd again indoors way awesome.

Racing was good, still a lot of passing.

Sure it would be great to be at bigger stadiums with 40-60 second lap times, but Aus is always going to struggle to get more than 10,000 to a SX for the time being, so these stadiums, mixed with MotoGP, Bathurst, going back to Wayville in SA I think will get the sport back on track.

This seasons supercross had the best feel to it all round than anything I have been to since I started covering the events for Fullnoise.

Gas events were good, but so tightly controlled with access it got a lot of people off side early and by the time they got things sorted it was to late, the first year back with Konsky was good but rained out rounds hurt. last year had a very average vibe to it and rain did not help again.

Then this year everyone seemed happy, racing was tight and some on track niggle keep things interesting at all times, you were always waiting for payback in each race from someone. Seen so many big hits this year, lol I really need to stop watching them and shoot them, I just get to caught up in it.

I think the way things are heading for next year it will be even better again.

Oh and it was announced just before I left last night that the race will be on Channel Seven, though not sure on time frame. Some free to air coverage for the final round and it sounds like to channels were both wanting it! Hopefully it rates well and all rounds get some coverage next year.

Combine that with the live streaming of the Nats, the final round from Coolum on Foxtel and probably more next year, things are starting to look good here in Aus. Fingers crossed.

Cool report Az...

So what happened with Peters and Harrison? Is Harrison banged up badly?

I'd like to see the freestyle landing ramp incorporated into the track so it doesn't take space for no reason... it might make the landing sketchy for the FMX guys? But could also be a cool obstacle... Even if it was an over under lander or something...

I missed the Freestyle during the break, it was a good time to download the cards, not sure if the crowd were into it or not.

Monster Truck in there would have had to be a waste, but kids love loud noises!

Not sure about Harry and Peters, it was right behind said down ramp and we were on the other side. I did not see him go down but because of where it was I did not think much off it. Then I nearly got cleaned up by the Ambo as it shot down the start straight behind me, scared the crap out of the lol.

Was surprised to hear he done so much damage, it really sucks.

Expect to see quite a few Aussies at A1 then a few more on the East Coast for 250 Smile

Moss's eluded to it above and I am expecting to see both team-mates there, Mellross is heading back and has a good thing lined up and is on pace. Taylor Potter is going back and I think the American will be surprised in the speed he has found, he has always been a good rider, but has hit another level since the end of his American trip last year.

Pretty much all comes down to him finishing his apprenticeship now so is taking the time to focus on racing with his trade behind him.

There might be a few surprised on the line come A1 from the Aussies Smile

That's great to hear about the free to air coverage of the event. There was plenty of action, so hopefully that translates to tv well. I was at the press day event on the Friday, and was pumped once I saw the track. Was a great track with such small floorspace, which allowed for great racing but wasn't too dangerous that guys were going to be getting out of control and spearing on to other lanes of the track. The only gripe I have, but it is a pretty big one, is make the events throughout the day accessible to the public for god's sake !!! I love watching the pro practice and it would also have been great to watch the Arena X racing throughout the afternoon. How good would it be for the younger kids and clubman guys to be racing in front of a crowd. Seriously, what is the issue with this ???

Yeah agree Swapper would have been good to have the crowd in there during the day.

I actually did not realise they were running the Arena-X the way it was, if i knew I would have organised a bike and and had a ride, looked like fun and the track was dulled down quite a bit. they did not use the whoops (came straight back down the start straight)

The other Aussie website lol (Motoonline) has a highlights video up done by Spence which gives a bit of a look at the event and pretty cool.

I'm sure the crowd will be aloud aloud in a little more for the stadium x juniors in future but to lift sx back like Yarrive and Sarge have, I think they did a great job concentrating on the night show. How's Yarrive, promotor of Sx but also runs the Honda team, he gives his rider, USA lad Gavin Faith a pretty solemn cuddle after the mx 2 win. So much involvement with passion. When is this TV broadcast happening ?

Wasn't much in to from what i saw. Peters just took Harry's line away but you can't blame Peters especially with a track tight track like saturday night. Contact and block passes were made like that all night. Harrison didn't really fall that hard either, i was really surprised that he did that much damage. He's had a tough run with injuries,so hopefully he gets well and comes back for 2015 mx nationals.

Cheers JB479.

I was actually amazed there were not more takes downs, there were a lot more big hits at Phillip Island than there were at Brisbane, maybe the extra space and speed made the hits bigger and a couple of well placed 180 turns!

Have a 6 frame sequence of Gibbs throwing a block pass on DMC that ill upload tomorrow, was a good pass.
