They have a pretty good ncm battery which is better than the KTM one imo.

Well thats the 2014 ones. I got a 5.7 my13 for 8000 € which is basically the same as the 2014 (the important parts like battery etc are the same)

I worked with Quantya USA for a few years, Quantya is a Swiss made bike, and I know how fun these are. People hate and say never, never, never, but they don't have any idea what they are talking about. Speed is speed and acceleration is acceleration so they are just like riding a regular dirt bike, only different. Much lighter feeling than a dirt bike, kind of half way between an MX bike and a DH mountain bike.

The thing I find interesting is that the Quantya always had a little bit of a clunk when landing hard off a jump and I could never really figure out exactly what it was. I notice in the video that the KTM does it also.
Thanks! The clunk is just the suspension bottoming out!

Some of the bikes they had were set-up stiffer and didn't bottom out, but the ones with softer suspension handled better and seemed to offer more traction.

I think the switch to electric is going to happen surprisingly fast ! I'm into R/C, and Brushless LIPO set ups just blow the doors of anything internal combustion! way cleaner and almost maintaince free . When Battery run times get comparable to a tank of gas , I will be buying one for sure!

To charge it 100%: 80min / 80%: 50min
I only would use it for trails, no moto.
Battery life is kinda short if you take it for a play ride on the trails then.

The less aggressive you are with the power, the longer it lasts. With the Quantya we got about the same 20-25 minutes of hard moto. It would go at least double that on trails before noticing a lack of acceleration and as a general riding/pit type vehicle where you never really go full throttle, you could go as much as 2-2.5hrs before it needed plug in.

I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere, but the big problem with the price is directly related to the cost of the battery. It's easy to swap a battery out at a ride demo when the manufacture has many there, but the replacement cost for the Quantya's lithium polymer battery was $3500... I would have to imagine that the KTM would be similar in price.

Yes electric is the future, in fact Im getting my kids Osets to ride. mainly because it opens up so many places close to home to ride. Oh and with a trials back ground it will improve their riding skills no matter what kind of riding they do. AndIts totally possible they may never have a gas powered bike. It just depends on how fast the E bikes take off..

Electric absolutely is the future, and those Osets look like great starter bikes... but I'll be damned if my future son won't have his very first ride on an internal combustion bike haha.. Likely a Z50. Just a principal thing Wink but without a doubt, electric bikes are a comin'. I'd love to look into a crystal ball and see what all that is going to be like in 10, 20, 40 years from now Shocked

2 to 2.5 hrs is more like it yes.
For now these bikes are too expensive for me but I can definitively see myself buying one when the price goes down in the future.
