I am a King fan from way back. It's cool how he ties in a lot of Mid-Wrold references throughout his books. The Stand is one of my favourites I reread every few years. For pure horror "Night Shift" has stories that flat creeped me out. He has gotten softer as he has aged..............

Dude that ink looks awesome. I'm jealous. I've been waiting for them to adapt it to the big screen or something but no one seems brave enough to try. I always thought it would make an awesome Manga style cartoon. Like how they turn Batman comics and shit like that into feature cartoons. I feel you could get away with more in a cartoon than an actual film. Here's hoping.

i was having this same talk with my sister the other day, i think the best idea would be to make it into a Game of Thrones style tv-series. i'm having a hard time thinking anyone would do a good movie of it, even one book would be too much content for a whole movie.

do you read the graphic novels (comic books) at all? provides a ton of back-story and side stories of the Dark Tower universe. they're super dark and graphic, awesome, and they're also what inspired my leg DT theme.

I love the DT series -My only complaint is the end seemed rushed the middle books "The Wastelands/Wizards&Glass/Song of Susanna" were absolutely epic then it kind of just hurriedly wrapped up. I wonder if after is accident King got worried he may never finished and just finished up. Hopefully, he writes some more Mid-world stories like "Wind through the Keyhole" to fill in the many blanks.
I'll have to check out the comics I'm a fiend for the "history" behind good books/series....................and if they do a TV deal hopefully they don't butcher it like the did to ASOIAF with A Game of Thrones. They turned into a hipster/pop culture nightmare..........

i have the Wind Through The Keyhole but am currently trying to finish the Game Of Thrones so i haven't been able to read it yet.

as for starting out on the comics, Gunslinger Born is probably where i would start. the first one is basically set at the same time as Wizards and Glass. the comics are badass.

"Wind through the Keyhole" is a cool novella which takes place in three time periods. The cool part is from when Roland was a kid.

Peelout, I know it's only my pet peeve but the series is "A Song of Ice & Fire" with only the first book being called "A Game of Thrones".....Unless you are referring to the train wreck that is the HBO show.............

i hear ya, i just hate abbreviating things. to be honest watching the first season of GoT is what got me reading the books. it's a bad habit but i tell people i'm reading GoT as i get sick of telling people what A Song Of Ice and Fire is... everyone knows what GoT is.

i'm on Feast for Crows right now, trying to get wrapped around all the new characters is a little daunting.

i'm on Feast for Crows right now, trying to get wrapped around all the new characters is a little daunting.
That's why you gotta go all hipster and add the "I was into George RR Martin before the HBO show".............The series has to be read a few times before you start "getting it. It's just too complex to follow all of it in one read through, imo.............It's kind of like the Dune series of fantasy.............Next try some R.Scott Bakker which is a mix of the two.........
