I spoke too soon, after finally test riding the bike, I've discovered quite the let down.. It only shifts up to 4th gear, no 5th or 6th. I've read it could possibly be a shifter fork.. Anyone have any thing similar to this? I sent the motor complete to gorr, and received it that way. Put it in, fired it up and had just been letting it idle to heat cycle it.. Had planned on taking it to the track this weekend for the 1st ride.. Looks like that's a no go

I bet it's the shift stopper bearing.this is a very common problem on the 05-06 yz125 and yamaha fixed the problem in 2007.good news is it should be a cheap and easy job to fix it,all you need to do is fit the 07 and up part,you may have to split the case's to clean it out if the bearing has exploded though.the best thing to do is go into the yamaha two stroke section on thumpertalk and key in "replace your shift stopper!" In the search this topic box on the right hand side of the page.i'd have copied and pasted the link for you but i'm not sure how to do it on my i-pad and i'm on holiday in florida atm.
