Choke - Take 2....

Well after many have stated (due to stats and history), it looked like Kenny was choking. In the prerace pulpcast JT$ said he hoped the mud didn't effect the championship.

I have agreed that Kenny had not looked the same from the first part of the season to the second half. (Not to mention his post race pulpcast, where he said it's so mental). But this race... I don't know if it was just simply Kenny rode well in the mud with good starts. Or his ability to adapt to new tracks/conditions quicker than most. But he did what he had to do.

As per the other choke post, choke is too strong of a word. But did Dungey's second moto remind any one of his MXoN rides last year. His body language and inability to move forward.

I know, I know it was probably 90% mud with a bad start. But Dungey was not Dungey moto 2.

IM stoked for roczen I think hes a great kid and he deserved this championship. I think the preassure as well as the heat started to get to him. But when it mattered the most he did what he needed to do to pull this out. I think a lot of americans where pulling for dungey just to not have to listen to some of the european posters trash talk. But i really dont see how anyone could not like him, how many people give herlings and cairolli crap for not coming over here and racing and than turn around and root against roczen when hes about to win a 450 title his rookie year? he's living and reaching his childhood dreams and I think thats awesome

Good post Benchracer101. Ken was wilting a little bit for sure and Dungey was smelling blood but the fortunes turned this weekend and the pressure is off of Roczen. He nailed the starts and Dungey didn't and that will probably decide this thing. Dungey really looked deflated in that second moto after starting poorly. He probably was feeling the title slip away as he was struggling to pass people. Roczen will have definitely earned it if nothing unusual happens next Saturday.

As to Dungey's 2nd moto ride I'm still going to stick to the no goggles had a lot to do with his ride. I know, others didn't have goggles either but the guys running the really hot laps did (btw, good job Reed). Now would Dungey have beat Canard or Roczen? I'm going to say no. Those guys just had it dialed and even from moto 1 it didn't seem like Dungey was the better rider on Saturday. Anyway, he ditched those goggles pretty early and did not get around anyone after ditching them. If anything I think we found out who can ride a mudder.

We can dismiss the choke talk and let's say CLUTCH for Roczen.

One mud race in a 12 race Championship doesn't make or break a series.

The timing of when that mud race happens can make a dent though. If this race happened at round one or two it wouldn't have seemed like such a big deal but being the penultimate round did give it additional meaning imho.

Who cares. It's not like Dungey's bike blew up or anything.
