The real question here is why would someone ride WITHOUT protection against rocks and broken fingers?
I feel the same way about upper body protection.......plus have run hand guards since late 80s.

I've heard a few pros say they don't run them because they don't like the look and feel. At that level, the tiniest thing can mess with your head. Was it Brayton that broke his hand recently? someone was on the pulp show saying they don't like them. Top Jimmy, Brayton or Hahn, one of them. I agree too, they look homus as!

The only thing I can realistically think of is that they don't look cool.

No one ever says "I'm glad I don't use hand guards" when they're injured because they didn't use hand guards.

Fashion instead of safety...a fools errand but who said MX doesn't have its fair share of fashion fools?

Think Hahn or someone said recently they don't like them because they're just another thing to potentially get hooked on another bike off the start

I find this topic distracting.
