I've broken my T-11 and T12 vertabrae, and my nose! The nose was the bars to the face when I was 13, and the spine was in January, when I was 36!

Over the years I've learned I don't break too easily. I have very strong bones. Therer have been a few crashes that I really should have broken something, but have been either really lucky, or I bend really well instead of break!!

Sucks.

After 47 years, many racing, off roading, atv's, drinking hijinx, blah, blah, blah I got my first broken bone last weekend.

Landscaping of all things. Dropped a railroad tie on it!

Ok, I gotta know. HTF did you break a tib playing golf?

I kicked a desk Friday night and broke the end of my middle toe while trying to wrestle a 125lb. sheppard/lab mix outside.

I considered complaining until I read this thread. I was hoping I was done with fractures.

Broken femur, started riding about 4 months later. Had pins and rod removed about 2 yrs after.

Cracked tibia plateau, had two screws keeping it together. Started riding about 3 months later...

I still have lots of pain in my leg after breaking my femur!

I have similar artwork in my personal Xray collection.

I was reading some literature about how our bones become accustomed to the activities that we do because there are active properties inside the bones which respond to repetative stress loads and such. To make a long story short activities which differ from normally experienced physically activities involving impact seem to influence the structural integrity of our bones. Thus making things more prone to injury if the activity is novel. That is kind of a glancing overview, but it is interesting to think about.

I do not subcribe to the concept of luck, but this thread is the equivalent of saying 'One more lap." and well, you know.

about six months for me but i was a kid at the time. now it would probably kill me.

i was riding my streetbike and a little old lady decided that stop signs didn't apply to her. i spent six weeks in the hospital, followed by 12 weeks in a body cast. now my leg is 1-1/4" shorter than the other.
5 times broken right leg at the same place

My right leg is 1 1/4" shorter than the left one me too.Do you still riding?

Listen to your doc and think long term. Took mine a good year and still hurts on rainy days.
