Newman's the expert on these but not even close to the Fox bike IMO. No Simons Forks, Wrong Swingarm.. Pretty much a painted tank.

I'm unfamiliar with the history of the Moto-X Fox bikes, but remembered seeing photos of other examples posted here on Vital. I was uncertain if this bike had any true collector value or like you said, yzvet426, was just a basic 370 with a painted tank.

The one above has a set of Fox Airs and some paint. No Simon's forks, no Thor swingarm. Obviously a nice looking bike, but missing a few key features to be considered a replica. Tydog here on Vital has a nice Fox replica RM370. Building the Richter replica was a tough one. Lot's of little trick mods all over that bike.

Thanks Joe. Here is a sample of Mr. Newmann's artistic abilities on the tank. The sad thing is that I do not have any pics of it since it is complete. I suck.

I know the owner very well. Great guy and still races a current RMZ 450. It wasn't meant to be an exact replica, just as close as he could get it.

We should actually be focusing on that sweet Maico he has for sale. Always had a thing for those bikes but have never owned one. One day.....

I am pretty certain that I have met him at a SEVMX event also. You are correct, he is a great guy!

I'd like to have either of them. I've recently been offered a late 70's RM 125 from a friend to try my hand at vintage racing. It's very enticing to say the least. I hear Dave Aldana races fairly often in and around GA. I think it'd be a thrill to race someone from "On Any Sunday".

Just thought I'd let you guys know that this is my dad's bike. He didn't intend for it to be the exact replica but he did rebuild it from the frame. It was basically nothing when he got it so if you ask me I think its a pretty darn good bike. Besides, at the pro national race at muddy creek back in June Roger Decoster liked it so much he signed it so yea, I'd say it has a lot more value now. (:

I would change the ad as it's misleading that this is some sort of heavily Fox accessorized trick bike. It really only has Fox Air Shox. Nice looking and as a RM370 it's cool but what makes it a Fox bike again? A Fox bike would utilize forks up front instead of shocks!

Seriously? How is that misleading? It has been completely restored! It was basically nothing when he got it.

As we all look at bike's on Vital Mx there things we would change, to make more OEM, more like the racer , or more to our on liking. WE SHOULD ALL BE SO LUCKY TO HAVE A BIKE THAT OLD, THAT NICE. Just enjoy them!

I don't want to get hung up semantics here as I think the bike looks awesome and I know how much time goes into frame up resto's and overhauls. When you read the ad it has emphasis that it IS a Moto X Fox Team bike. Really the only Fox item we see are the rear shocks and a nicely painted Fox schemed tank. Read the ad.

Don't confuse the message here as it's just feedback around the ad and not the actual bike and craftsmanship behind the restoration. I think it's an awesome bike and nice work. However, in the vintage world when you say you have a Fox replica, restored Fox bike or Fox Team bike that means more than a set of shocks and painted tank.

For a comparison look at the other RM370 restoration job in this thread. That is more similar to the Fox team/scheme bike.

I did read the ad. And that's just fine. Cause it has a HECK of a lot more value in it now with Roger Decoster's autograph on that painted tank. So if you ask me, all the "technical" stuff doesn't really matter anymore.

I'd like to know what chain guide Tydog used and if it would fit a standard swingarm?

I was in the Pits hanging around the Suzuki Box truck/van during the day DeCoster was riding the RN 370 WORKS BIKE at the Rabbit Run MX track in Plano Tx. Trans AMA years. The japanese mechanics taught me to eat cantalope and I was given the air filters out of his 403cc works bike . It was cool times.
