The old James would of still won. Last to first was no big deal. His glory days are behind him. Happens to everyone sooner or later. It's part of the cycle of life.

RC wasn't great at everything. He had his flaws too.

As mentally tough as RC was, we never saw him have to deal with the sort of scrutiny Bubba has. So there is no accurate way of guesstimating how he would have reacted to such. RV is a better example of mental strength and even his plight pales in most respects to Bubba.

RC a few months later, TP199 goes right across him and RC hits him TP goes down... James was never booed like that.
Yup , I sure remember that well. Im just glad there wasnt twitter when JMB was racing. That time showed the mx community at their worst .

No racism, no drugs, all bullshit aside...

That pass on Grant was a bad decision. Grant's not known for just moving aside - even for a faster rider. The line wasn't clean, and it looked (from my chair) like a sketchy pass.

This has been James' albatross since he entered the sport. I can point out time after time that he picked a bad line, pushed too hard too soon, or just flat out threw it away - and it doesn't have to be a sketchy pass. I've watched him toss it even with a big lead, walking away.

I know it's not a popular idea with the JS7 fans on here, but the truth is Stewart sometimes makes bad decisions on race day. It isn't a racial thing, it isn't a drug thing, it isn't a new thing. It's a JS7 thing.

It's the other side of the coin. On one face, there's the speed, the enormous talent, and the ability to see the track in ways no other rider has ever thought of. The flip side is sometimes he makes bone-head decisions.

I think this is true. And it was my original point.

Adversity is not his strength.
That's bullshit.... I've noticed that fans of this sport have a habit of calling guys quitters or saying they can't handle adversity. Usually the guys they are talking about face more adversity than anyone else and by a longshot.

But if he made the pass, it would have been a "great move", right?
It's only a "bad decision" because we don't like the outcome.

Same thing in the whoops at A1: He makes a decision, pulls the trigger. If he passes Roczen, he's a hero. Gets a bad bounce and he "threw it away".

IIRC Sonya (James' Mother) had a very scary moment at one of the nats years back. A dark day in our sport. With the adversity all of the racers have faced at one point or another, I don't think any racer has had their moms safety and well being put in danger like James.

Boo me all the fuck you want, but you come at my mother while I'm racing on the track, be prepared to get torpedoed with a 450 if I find ya. Kudo's to James for holding it together that day.

These same dialogues that have incessantly swirled around James Stewart since his coming into the pro ranks are so completely played out.

It's real disappointing! Just when I thought James was going to take control of the series after his 1-1 ride at high point, the wheels come off the rails after James failed the drug test. Unfortunately I think James will not be competitive for the remainder of the season.

Just saw, "Made topics" and yep - that's him. Always a random question for a topic, ended with, ".......?" and no content for the topic.

Yes, so true...most fans will be 'sniggering' at one of the best riders that has ever thrown a leg over a motorcycle. Dry

He made his bed now he has to lay in it.

Huck, I know you were being sarcastic but it's true. Irrespective of his talents his image is now tarnished. People will look at him and wonder.

It's called human nature. Been that way for thousands of years and won't ever change.

Especially when you have brought the "misfortune" as you call it, on oneself.

BTW..... It wasn't misfortune. It was a subversion of the rules. Big fucking difference.

Because he didn't get a TUE for his prescription? Or may have gotten an IV between motos?

Guess what, most motocross people are good people and don't put people under a microscope to make themselves feel better.
Do people "snigger" when they see Ron Lechein for his drug issues and jail time, which is obviously much worse. No, most people don't, they say that was one bad dude on a dirt bike and fun as hell to watch. And the few people who would "snigger" I'm sure he can care less what they think.
